I like the guide however I dislike that for some mechanics, e.g. the first witch hunt, you just skip and are like "It works basically the same, so I won't show it." I don't see the harm in showing it anyways just so it's more complete for the people who may be struggling with the mechanic, it also helps in a static when trying to explain the mechanic in other words.

There's no point in padding the runtime of an already nearly 30 minute video. Information overload is also a thing. Going into minute detail over every aspect of the mechanic is likely to just leave more people confused. It's best to just get the gist of the mechanics and how to solve them and then learn through practical application, as in just going into the fight and doing it, which will give you a much better understanding than watching a guide alone would.

Hello Hector, I have a slight issue with pf strats not many notice. I recommend East healer and offtanks swap clocks spots to avoid multiple party wipes, due to color pairs off tanks take south clock and end up south with another melee in drop and spread adding 5 total on that half, healers always try to take SE tower on beat, realize too late and can't adjust fast enough, if they swapped clock spots all of this can be avoided.

Is there a specific reason for changing the group positions on Final Fusedown? For healer and ranges, going from east-west to north-south?
@Rotisr
@Rotisr 2 күн бұрын
There is no reason given, and I do agree with that the Healers and Range should just stay on their sides for Fusedown due to just performing a lariat where we either clock-spread or INTERcard stacks. I would also recommend the dps caster take the NE spot as if they are a BLM or PCT they can place their lay lines/stary field down and not have to hold 2 minute bursts moving to SW as they would have to if set to Group 1 or 2 in Hector's guide. And the Phys range, who would have movement can run to the SW if the dps are short fuse, and NW if long. Healer would have the benefit from keeping the dps uptime and also not have to run across.

Why does H1/R1 and H2/R2 switch positions during Final Fusedown? I mean, for the entire fight they are H1/R1 Position "D" and H2/R2 Position "B" but during Final Fusedown you have them switch to opposite ends of their original positions.

Dude, ran into this problem too. R1 can either lazily stay at one or hop to 2 While R2 has hop to 3 or schlep all the way to 4... being split N and S. instead, splitting West and East, the Group 1 and 2 H/R just stay on their original damn group side... now got these potatoes quoting this like the bible and never down to try R2 -- gee i wonder why...

B and D should be in the middle between that marker and the boss. B and D are absolutely USELESS in this position. Doing this allows for light party stacks to not get confused during the first 9 lives attack and it helps with cardinal partner stacks as people don't have to run too far. Personally, I'm at the point I don't even need markers but this is just my 2 cents.

Very curious: Why do you establish fairly early on that you're going with uptime clockspots but still choose to have people go back to normal clockspots later on? That feels super unnecessary. Can't you just stay with your uptime clockspots the whole fight? Switching back and forth at random seems like a recipe for chaos.
@HectorHectorson
@HectorHectorson 5 күн бұрын
Each mechanic uses the best positions for that mechanic. Uptime positions when needed. Standard clockspots otherwise, to allow melees positionals. You could use the same positions throughout, but you'd be losing out on positionals/uptime.

Hello, I know this may sound stupid, but is there a possibility for my smol brain to better "understand" Widening/Narrowing Phase? I know how the mechanic works but it confuses me to be that fast to get what my spot is. Sorry 😭
@HectorHectorson
@HectorHectorson 6 күн бұрын
I normally see the pattern as normal (widening + out or narrowing + in) or cursed (widening + in or narrowing + out). On normal, I am always on the waymark, except when it's my turn to bait. On cursed, I always dodge further than the waymark, except when it's my turn to bait. For my static, I call normal as "Tanks more in, healers more out, melees more in, ranged more out" and I call cursed as "Tanks on waymarks, healers on waymark, melees on waymark, ranged on waymark" There is also a static version of this, shown in the Pastebin, that simplifies the mechanic mentally in exchange for making the positioning a bit tighter. Maybe give it a look and see if you find that easier.

same but honestly i just muscle memory all the possible patterns into doing it lmao i just need to figure out what i will start with for example widening then i get out and i see if i need to really get out or stay close as possible then i do the opposite of the things until it's my turn and i do exactly what the bait wants me to do (which as a melee dps it's either the 3rd or 4th turn) of course this also takes some time to process but it's just what has been working for me so far T_T

beat 3 defams is just easier to use clocks imo... nobody needs to pre-position into the correct quadrant, so you can just dodge however you want then just run over to your clock spot but all the way to the wall. Doing it this way, if anyone messes up their quadrant for the dodges or gets turned around prior to defams then the defamations are guaranteed to fail. Knowing you just gotta find your clock by the last aoe, then run over is easier and theres enough time from pretty much anywhere to get to your spot. Really makes the dodging part way less hectic and frees you up to do what is safe, rather than trying to run over to your particular quadrant and get clipped by an aoe.
@spicybrad
@spicybrad 6 күн бұрын
in my experience people have no problem being in their normal quandrant, but have a major problem finding the right spot for outer/centerstage immediately after the first defams unless doing color partners, in which case you simply walk back down the same line and you are automatically good to go.

Hello Hector. I am the person who originally created the AutoCAD part of the AutoCAD uptime Sunrise strat. I only mention this because I think it is important to mention that the safe spots are on the *dead middle of the edge of the waymark*, and the maximum amount of safety requires you aiming for this specific spot on the marker. You did naturally put the placement of the player icons in this spot (which aligns with the raid plan). However the phrasing "on the edge" of the waymark is not specific enough. This is due to the angle you make with the baited cannon is the most important factor when considering "safety" margins with this strat. Standing too close to either edge messes with this angle and will cause you to hit another player. Due to the popularity of this strategy I see in PF now, I thought it was necessary to get this information out there. The point of creating this strat and modelling it in AutoCAD was to give an absolute point of reference to stand in to be safe, while maximizing the amount of "wiggle room". Unfortunately this means that, due to geometry, only the center of the waymark on the outer edge is safe. There is no way to place the markers such that the corner of the waymarks safe. I don't feel that this necessarily warrants a major change to the guide, just wanted to put the information out there, to hopefully prevent frustrations with the strat. For reference, there is an image now included in the AutoCAD raidplan description that shows the AutoCAD-guaranteed safe spots on the marker. The shapes are odd due to the nature of how the cannons are baited being highly dependent on the angle made between you and the center of the cannon. If anyone here doesn't want to find that image in the description above, here is the safe spots for the 1 waymark as depicted by my amazing text-art skills. X marks the safe spots. ---- ---- X ---- ----- | | | | X 1 waymark | | | | | ---- ---- ----- ---- -----

I just have a question about midnight sabbath for anyone who has cleared the fight. When you need to dodge the AOEs, is it always counter clockwise as shown in the video? As I noticed that in Rinon's guide it shows people dodging clockwise. So if you are doing Hector is it always dodge CCW, and if it's Rinon do you always dodge CW?

As much as I can appreciate guides, this stuff also completely destroyed real progression. It gave people a huge superiority complex and completely harmed people with learning disabilities who can't learn from videos. Some people enjoy learning content as they go and some people like to mimic what they see people do in videos. People want things given to them and handed to them and honestly, guides should be an optional thing not a required thing. Literally every PF REQUIRES people copy you and not deviate or think for themselves. I'm not blaming you for this but man, it's a real issue.
@walwal6449
@walwal6449 7 күн бұрын
I disagree, unless you are a experienced raider who's familiar with many mechanics (or even have experience blind progging itself too), your average pf player cannot blind prog into clear in one lockdown for savages.... It turns into an issue when ppl are at different prog points and have their own strats for doing things hence it is just easier if all have an universal way of doing things so everyone is on the same page. Sure you can just tell ppl your own strats but it is just easier to do something you already know between 8 ppl... ppl want the quicker way of doing things and blind progging is just too time consuming for that Blind prog is just best done with people you know for consistency and shouldnt be a standard thing for pf when clearly an easier option is avaliable. If anything you could always start your own, im sure there are ppl out there who share the same sentiment
@lilkittygirl
@lilkittygirl 6 күн бұрын
@@walwal6449 Like I said, I support the guides but at the same time it has created some extremely toxic gameplay for many people. Especially those with learning disabilities. They live, eat and breathe these guides as to being the ONLY way to do the encounters. It makes every fight cookie cutter and that's just not fun.
@SaveMeXenu
@SaveMeXenu 6 күн бұрын
I agree with this sentiment, but at the same time, trying to learn a different strat for every mechanic for every group you join is just not a reasonable expectation people should have. In a perfect world, everybody would blind prog and the game would be better, but because you're likely gonna be progging with many different groups, unfortunately, this is the reality we have to live with.

For me, as I raid alone and most of my friends are casuals, these guides are the best way I could clear on pf, because I don’t have a static (can’t commit to one for personal reasons + timezones), blind prog works for statics or friends and people who are playing with voice chat, it’s difficult to do on pf with 7 other strangers, which is why a “universal” guide makes it easier for those of us who raid on pf
@Rotisr
@Rotisr 2 күн бұрын
Yeah I agree, as a caster Fusedown based on Hector's guide is more movement intensive, meaning as a dps I am not contributing, the only caster jobs that can do this are possible RDM as they do their melee then get out, or SMN which is a glorified Physical Range job at this point. Also too, he address that is week 1 stats and advertises that things change, but PF gets stuck in their ways. I do wish updates on better stats would come more frequently.
