Maybe this is an opportunity to start “sprint league” Traditionalists would hate it, but it could be appealing to a newer crowd. Easier to market, less intimidating for new competitors, and not long enough to get boring

Do you have any advice on how to connect kettlebells for when you run out of weight? I have a 36kg kb but its too light for heavier work (below 12 reps). I've tried connecting a 10kg bell but the grip becomes too thick to hold even though the weight feels ok. Would appreciate any feedback, i love the videos and tips you give on this channel 😎

I'm 67 years and 8-months old, and I have four home gyms: a garage gym, a basement gym, an extension room gym, and a backyard patio gym. I own many different types of exercise equipment, which includes Barbells, Bulgarian Bags, Dumbbells, Exercise Machines, Kettlebells, Maces, a Medicine Ball Rebounder, Resistance Bands, SandBags, and Slam Balls. Kettlebells is a different means of achieving muscular overload because it involves unbalanced weight training, like mace training and sledgehammer training. This is because of the shape of a kettlebell, in which most of the weight is underneath the handle. This is a good thing because as Vladimir Zatsiorsky, the world renowned former strength and conditioning consultant to the former Soviet Olympic teams and the late Louie Simmons of Westside Barbell Club assert, athletes should rotate exercises and strength training methods every few weeks to avoid muscular accommodation, which occurs when your body gets accustomed to the same exercises and strength training method. Muscular accommodation results in no progress and even performance decreases. Muscular accommodation also occurs to kettlebell athletes, which is why they too should rotate exercises and strength training methods every few weeks or so-- or, at least, when they reach a muscular endurance, size, or strength plateau.

There's triathlon event supertri E or arena games triathlon, where the swimming is done in the pool, cycling is on stationary bike or on rollers and running happens on treadmill. They have the running and cycling competition happen on Zwift virtually. So even treadmill running can be made interesting with the help of computers 😄 Personally I do distance running and find it entertaining to watch group of people to run around a track for 10s to 30 minutes (100m to 10k), or in a city for two hours (marathon). Track&field has been losing spectators for years, and they say one reason is because they are unable to market the rivalries, drama and personalities of the sport. They've tried to change rules for some events, but that hasn't made much difference. Track&field events are incresingly more sports that people no longer do themselves. I see similarities to kettlebell sport competitions based on your description.

When I got into kettle bell I started with hard-style. After a while I wanted a new challenge and I wanted to up my endurance game, so I started practicing sport technique. And if I'm being totally honest, I thought watching KB Sport was boring until I started practicing it, even though I was already practicing hard-style. Someone else in the comments mentioned how KB sport is like watching someone run a marathon on a treadmill. Only endurance runners would enjoy watching it because they could understand whats actually going into it. They have their own technique that they are comparing to the athlete. A regular person, especially one that doesn't practice any type of KB is going to be so bored by watching KB competitions.
@kettlebellmusclegain6 күн бұрын
Yes HARDSTYLE can be a very simple base. Focused on tension and not much else. You're right as progression can involve technique as well as strength . Learning different ways to accomplish similar movements is amazing . Look at boxing..it's not all jabs. If HARDSTYLE is like sprinting , I like to compliment with trail running

@kettlebellmusclegain7 күн бұрын
Yes depending on the weight sometimes I would do 3:00 to 4 sets of this even two to four minutes of rest in between each step if I'm going for kettlebell sport

@@kettlebellmusclegain cheers bro. I tried doing a few of these after my workout earlier and man it killed me. Holding it there and resting in the rack position really gets those lats activated! I think I might change workouts now and do only just for a few weeks, although I'm not sure if I'll hit 3mins without putting it down just yet lol. I thought I'd easily do 1min but it's much much harder than you realise. Hopefully without working out prior will help alot. Thanks and hope you have a good evening ✌
@MrHadane7 күн бұрын
More dynamic kettlebell movements should be used rather than stationary endurance moves. That's like watching someone run a marathon on a treadmill. No-one cares about that. Take inspiration from pentathlon. Halteres that resemble kettlebells in a way were used in Ancient Greece to aid in long jumps. I can think of kettlebell throws or farmer carry relays being in it too. The possibilities are endless. Just need movements that would embody the kettlebell sport's power endurance nature in a measurable way.
@closg19307 күн бұрын
Im late to the video but this was great info! I completely changed over to kettlebells maces and bodyweight exercises last year. I feel that my abs and mid section engage for every movement. I had serious inconsistencies in my mid section when doing body building. I rather have a solid true strength build vs just looking to get big

my thoughts on why, because weights and kettlebells are made for working out not competition. They are used to get better at a sport . They are not a sport There are a few people that will watch you basically workout but it just boring. That is Why
@kettlebellmusclegain7 күн бұрын
It is a lifting. ompetition the same as powerlifting or Olympic lifting. It is just a muscular endurance focus similar to marathon runninng vs 4o yard sprint .

Most people seem to think kettlebell workouts are some sort of cult. I've found its hard to get people to take it seriously. It also takes a significant portion of your workout schedule to make real progress with kettlebells. I think most people can't really justify it being in their programming. But I also kind of like how kettlebell work is so niche. Like I'm getting an edge that other people just don't have.
