I think "pioneered" is a better word than perfected regarding lovecraft.

i wish we could talk about lovecraft's literary legacy, without every other video bringing up that he said/wrote some pretty stupid racist shit (but never acted on it), for the sake of political correctness. it's a deep can of worms to dig in to, but he really mellowed out over time, and was an incredibly troubled, neurodivergent guy, deserving of empathy, as much as you and me. let's just remember him for his wonderful horror stories. I’ve honestly restarted this game 4x and still haven’t beaten it yet… but I do love the music and art and even though there are times when I want to throw the controller, I just hit pause and just sit in the music. I hate how slippery the controls are and hate that I almost feel punished for now grasping it. (ADHD gamer here) I love a good challenge, but even when playing on easy mode, I feel like I should be able to get a better grasp on the game and not feel like I have an ever growing wall of frustration.

I think the funny part about your critique of the Ginso Tree Escape is that it's hands down my favorite sequence in the original Ori. Bash is such a fun ability to use, one of my favorite in any Metroidvania that I've played, and I don't know, for me the floaty movement never really felt bad.

Ok, you did not do your research correctly. We don't call it Eldritch horror because or that. He wasn't the only one who put it on the map, it was a various colabs who did that. So to say it's all Lovecraftian, would be in the wrong. Seeing there numerus people who made the whole thing. Lovecraft was only 2% of the whole Cthulhu mythos.

Thanks for letting me know about this game but could have done without the whining of Lovecrafts racism. Seriously, that's completely normal!!! And it's a super power at this point. Hell look at Asians who are super racist, they seem to get his work much better than the so called non racist in the West. It's tiring. Time to grow up on this subject. If you don't like him then don't enjoy his work or anything that YOUR ancestors built. Grow up racism is normal and fine. If you think I'm wrong look at the rest of the world. I had a similar experience to you (hated the first one and fell in love with the sequel) with one exception. I went back to play Blind Forest (I just finished it) and I realized it's not so bad as I tought it was. The sequel is still vastly better. But my opinion has changed on the original. It's not great but it's at least above average.
