I think I got it now. The swbc paint has no color in it. If it had white added to it, the colors of your paints would change and lighten. That's why I was confused. This recipe is your PM ✅️ and you use it 1-1 with your acrylic paints. I am using liqudex basic paints right now. Thank you for your help.❤

I know you did the instructions in great detail, but I'm still confused. The mixture 3 part swgbc and 1 part minwax pollcrylic clear gloss. Is this your pouring medium? If so, why do you add minwax to your color paints first? I have all of your ingredients except the glue. What could I use instead? Thank you for your videos.
@RhondasTriRRRtistry15 күн бұрын
Yes 3 parts SWBC with the 1 Part Minwax. That’s the medium for the color paints then I add that 1 to 1 with the paint. So the medium is one part and the paint is one part. I only add a little more minwax if the paint is too thick. I hope that makes sense. And the Glue…I have used floetrol instead. Try that and see how it turns out. Let me know if you have any more questions. 🥰

Depends on the pour. For this one no. I used ready mix pouring paints but you could mix all your colors if you wanted and not use the ready to pour paints. .

Thank you for your previous response. I have made a few of these glasses and LOVE them, but some of the bottoms are suctioning on to the countertop to the point that I will break the glass if I pull it. Have you had this issue? Any suggestions?
@RhondasTriRRRtistryАй бұрын
If resin is not mixed correctly it will creat a stickiness to them. Are you mixing by weight or volume?
@catherinecrummett3143Ай бұрын
Mixing by volume. It cures fine, but sometimes if the glass is placed in a wet flat surface it suctions to the surface because the bottom is flat.
@elainehudson3694Ай бұрын
Thank you for the tutorial, ehich are beautiful. How about washing the glass?
@RhondasTriRRRtistryАй бұрын
Great question. You can defiantly wash and soak in hot soapy water but putting them in the dishwasher will affect the resin due to the extremely high heat. I haven’t found a resin that is totally dishwasher safe…but I have not tested many resins. So I’m sure there has to be one out there. 😃🤷♀️

Thank you for this video. I learned so much. I do have a question. Why don’t you just take the risen to the edge of the glass instead of overflowing it onto the tape and then having to cut it later?
@RhondasTriRRRtistryАй бұрын
GREAT question. It helps to seal the paint skin down better. When I only have the resin go to the edge I tend to not have enough resin to seal the paint disk and then it bubbles and creates an uneven bottom.

Thank you for sharing! I just made 20 of them and have some scratches on a few of them on the glass from my blade. I guess i was a bit too rough. Have you had this issue? I was googling fixing wineglass scratches and found some info, but wondered if you encountered this too?
@RhondasTriRRRtistryАй бұрын
I have scratched them a few times. That’s why I heat the resin up a bit with my heat gun before I try to take the resin off. Or I rub with my fingers after it cools down a bit or use a towel.

The best thing I liked about your video is the originality. Many times we or say always we get something or the other thing in a painting which is not what we wanted. So we need to alter it. You were the first one who accepted it on the video and yes altered it in the video. Without editing it. ❤❤ and output is best.

@@RhondasTriRRRtistry Hi! - If I did not mix the paint 100% but I think I did. Straining helps ensure the Floetrol and paint are smooth. I also use Amsterdam and it’s thick. Also on occasion I see that I’m glad I strained it again with the paint and Floetrol mixed. It’s worth the extra time and effort with all that we put in for this obsession- I mean art! LOL🥰

Great question. Sometime when the canvas is a tad warped I add a stick or paper towels folded on itself until its level under them. Most of the time they are level but I do get the occasional warped canvas that isn’t. .

@@RhondasTriRRRtistry Hi!! I have found that before I buy the canvas I lay it on a piece of glass like the drafting table at the Blick Art store. Everyone there knows I’m making sure the canvas lies flat before I buy it. I learned the hard way after my art design slid off the canvas before I knew that could happen.

Hi Rhonda, just discovered your channel today. Your glasses are lovely with infinite designs. Using the Art Resin to seal them are they diswasher safe with the heat and detergents? I assume they are but wanted to ask you since this is your expertise. Thank you so much and enjoyed watching the process which was very soothing.
@RhondasTriRRRtistry3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much!!! And great question. The resin I use is not dishwater safe. The heat breaks down the resin. However detergents do not affect them so hand washing in hot soapy water works great! I have tried a few different resins but I haven’t found one that works well. I think there are others who have so I plan to test several this summer.
