⭐️Allow to set but not too dry ~ 18-24 hours DO NOT allow to dry longer than 48 hours
⭐️Peel tape and Liquid Latex and Cut excess resin
⭐️Rub the edge of the glass with a towel to buff
⭐️check for any resin that drips - use the heat gun to soften and take the resin off
The Bloom Paint Materials:
☁Pillow Paint:
Sherwin Williams Ultra White Semi-Gloss
💧Pouring Medium - PM:
3 Parts Sherwin Williams Base C
2 Part Minwax Polyacrylic
🎨Paint & 💧Medium Mix:
1 Part Pouring 💧Medium
1 Part 🎨Paint
Depending on how thick the paint is you may need to add more PM or less to get the consistency you need
💥Cell Activator - CA:
4 Parts Austrianlian Floetrol
1 Part 🎨Titainum White

Thank you for this video. I learned so much. I do have a question. Why don’t you just take the risen to the edge of the glass instead of overflowing it onto the tape and then having to cut it later?

GREAT question. It helps to seal the paint skin down better. When I only have the resin go to the edge I tend to not have enough resin to seal the paint disk and then it bubbles and creates an uneven bottom.

These are certainly beautiful! May I be so crude as to ask what you sell them for? My teenage granddaughter is going to be doing a fundraiser for her animal shelter and I wanted to add something unique for patrons to purchase. ❤

If I sell a regularly wine glass they go for $25-$30 a piece…however these are smaller so I would guess if I sold them it would be $20…I actually do all the labor for free. The Y pays for the glasses and for the Pillow Paint, Medium, and the resin. I use paint colors I already have and my tools. The only reason I do this is because I am the CEO of the organization…I don’t think I would do this for any other organization without some payment of my time. I would keep it minimal since I want it to be for a fundraiser. Let me know if you have any other questions…not sure that all made sense. LOL!

Thank you for your previous response. I have made a few of these glasses and LOVE them, but some of the bottoms are suctioning on to the countertop to the point that I will break the glass if I pull it. Have you had this issue? Any suggestions?

If resin is not mixed correctly it will creat a stickiness to them. Are you mixing by weight or volume?

Mixing by volume. It cures fine, but sometimes if the glass is placed in a wet flat surface it suctions to the surface because the bottom is flat.

Thank you for sharing! I just made 20 of them and have some scratches on a few of them on the glass from my blade. I guess i was a bit too rough. Have you had this issue? I was googling fixing wineglass scratches and found some info, but wondered if you encountered this too?

I have scratched them a few times. That’s why I heat the resin up a bit with my heat gun before I try to take the resin off. Or I rub with my fingers after it cools down a bit or use a towel.

I think I know the answer, but can you use pre-made pouring paint instead of Australisn Flotrol?

You can use the premade paints but to get the lacing and the cell you will need to use a cell activator. There are several you can use I have other videos on cell activator recipes I just like the Austrian one best.

Hi Rhonda, just discovered your channel today. Your glasses are lovely with infinite designs. Using the Art Resin to seal them are they diswasher safe with the heat and detergents? I assume they are but wanted to ask you since this is your expertise. Thank you so much and enjoyed watching the process which was very soothing.

Thank you so much!!! And great question. The resin I use is not dishwater safe. The heat breaks down the resin. However detergents do not affect them so hand washing in hot soapy water works great! I have tried a few different resins but I haven’t found one that works well. I think there are others who have so I plan to test several this summer.

Try using parchment paper in between your coasters. The paint doesn't stick and I use it for everything.
