I watch these restorers repairing parts pre heating parts in a vise. Vises act as a heat sink I'd use a clamp instead of a vise

Thank you for this valuable channel. I have a question, please, where can you study repairing things like what you do? Can you do a training course that is in person? I am ready to study 🙏🏻

I think you were going the wrong direction with the noodles. They probably would work better coming out between the black plates.

I did both. The thing I didn't and I should have done was to hang it on a wall. It was designed to be used like this.

What do you use as your blasting medium? Actual sand, or glass beads?
@rustyshadesrestoration
@rustyshadesrestoration Күн бұрын
Hi. I use both, but I prefer glass beads because they don't create harmful dust like sand. I use sand only if the piece has a thick layer of rust or many layers of paint and rust because it is more efficient (cleaning is faster); the glass beads can do the job, too, but will take longer.

So relaxing to watch; and satisfying to see you make it look brand new again, when most would scrap it! Thanks for keeping memories alive, with EVERY restoration! Great job at videoing and editing too! I know it takes a lot of time and patience for both!

This machine should be used in a mechanical and computer engineering university. Students should know how to disassemble and assemble it and learn the names of the parts. I remember my time as a student, and later as a young electronic engineer, when we learned to thread and manufacture magnetic core memories, we could touch the bits!
