It’s on DVD on Amazon, the music is ok. But the resolution is very poor.

I don't get it. Giacomini's baritone is so constricted, by being forced into the tenor range, the sound is borderline strangulated. I've never heard a worse instance of a totally misplaced instrument. But my guess is that he made a big noise, & that always goes down well, in person.

Großartige Stimme, ein bisserl von den "3 Tenören"" weggedrückt! (öffentliche Anerkennung) Ich kenne ihn vor allem aus der Arena di Verona, in München habe ich ihn leider verpasst! Sein Calàf und Otello sagenhaft! Heute wäre er unangefochten die Nr. 1 der Opernwelt!

For me Giacomini is the greatest Alvaro of all times, not to say that other great singers such as Corelli or del Monaco be minor interpreters. There is something in the color of the voice of Giacomini that makes me love listening to him. Very homogeneous and powerful along the whole extension of his instrument. I also tend to believe that this role was one of his favorites.
