As a kid I remember going outside and being fascinated by the three stars in a row easily seen from downtown Denver where we lived. Secondly, I have been to the southern hemisphere and I love seeing Orion upside down along with all the constellations. It just never gets old. Thank you for this information filled video.

There is one mistake in her narration, she says Andromeda and the Milky way galaxies are set to merge in 2.5 million years, actually the estimate is 4.5 BILLION years.

How about Alpha Camelopardalis? That deep blue supergiant, not blue-white supergiant star is O9Ia, the bluest spectral type. The distance is 6000 light years, which is the farthest constellational star, the apparent magnitude is +4.3, and has 37.6 the mass of the sun

This is the first constellation I've ever seen. It was 2 am, and I was smoking with my cousin in the balcony. This was the only constellation we could ever see due to light pollution. Only the Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta were visible. That's why i spotted as a ladle at first

I saw it yesterday, very nice constellation. And yes, Hydra is so difficult to point out. I am lucky enough to work as a stargazing guide at a company in Tenerife, spain. Were we are at 2200m height, with almost 0 light polution. And the videos you are making is an excellent tool for information. Thank you, and keep up the excellent work.

I have a question. I was trying to figure out what time of year it was on earth. Based on the tilt relative to the sun, it looks like winter for the northern hemisphere, and summer for the southern hemisphere And so I had figured it night be sometime in February? I had assumed it was after winter solstice, and before vernal equinox - but it sounds like maybe I had things flipped? It seemed like the video indicated Ɣ as being associated to the autumnal equinox and Ω the vernal equinox - is that correct?

👍👍👍 Thanks! Draco coils around the Ecliptic Pole; and Thuban is the most perfect of the pole stars with respect to proximity to the processional path of the North Celestial Pole -- at its closest circa 2830 BC.
