My buddy owns an archery shop, and he isnt completely on the heavier arrow thing but when i bought my new bow and new arrows we were talking about what i wanted in my arrows and when i told him i wanted to be around the 550 to 600 grains and he said he didnt like it but he would help me make it happen he was claiming speed lose till i showed him the ranch fairy video about the KE loss at 60 yards between light and heavy arrows and he immediately built a 650 grain arrow and got on board

Hey guys, this is Allen from Tn and my feeble mind is thinking on the mechanicals and I use to shoot them but they were just too inconsistent but like the on just the penetrating aspect of mechanicals is to me that when they hit and start thru the skin to the point of where the blades are deploying then to me when the blades deploy that takes away a little energy and even a little momentum therefore slowing or hindering the penetrating factor

The Berger holes are not the center. Might want to break out that tape measure. He’s telling you how to tune but doesn’t even know……wow great podcast of what not to do. Then ranch fairy admits he was shooting the wrong arrows. Is this for real?!?!?

Fully agree @ 21 mark. On a still cold night hearing them at dusk walking your way through dry leaf cover is a rush, especially when it's a shooter. My favorite nights. How many guys are measuring an logbooking larger track sizes? Waste of time or try it?

I had a bow tech at one of the local archery shops tell me a 2 years ago. Spend your time and money on 2 things... Arrows and Broadheads. Because that is the last thing that is connected between you and the animal, you are out to kill.

great podcast .just imagine deer crossing your scent trail and never seeing them spook.answer mail rabbit shit and pee add tarcill gland hair .close to 40 years for me with no problems.sitting in a tree in the NE at a average hight of 39 feet . I haven't ben busted 4 times in over 30 plus years maybe more . when a deer is down wind of me and it blows .to me .get ready the deer has circled down wind has smelled my tarcill gland and will be under my tree inside of 45 minis .50 present of the time it is to dark to shoot when the deer gets in bow range. I still haven't listened to even one deer tracker tell 1 deer story about trying to imitate a deer walking .trying to sound just like a deer with the wind in your face in compleat darkness .I learned that in western mass in 1989.the last 200 yards to the tree I plan on putting a tree stand in the dark = walking on your toes or stuffing a sticking in the ground between each step .it gets a little scary when you can smell the buck in front of you and he is less the 20 feet away .you can tell by smell and he will try to circle you .that is when I run .I don't want him to smell me at any cost .I have footage of deer fallowing me to the back to my truck as i sit on the ground he is pissing or shitting 15 feet away. and has fallowed me back on my scent trail to my truck .see you at hunt stock . try to get the hunting public guys to show up .again great podcast.

keep in mind fellas that learning to accept changes will help when the inevitable old age creeps up on you and creep it will. enjoy what comes your way no matter what comes your way because getting old is more about memories than being aggressive. be well guys. .

Man was this ringing true to me today. Normally I focus on mid day gobblers since a bird that gobbles mid day is a very killable turkey. I hiked 4 miles into some timberland and the birds would gobble, and swing in within 100 yards, but that's it. I think after getting worked, they figure if that hen is real then she will come to him. He will gobble once or twice, and if the hen is real, she will come to him. He knows it's risky to go to what he thinks is a hen. That's my theory at least.

Boofed my first double with a buddy this morning at 15 steps. Mossberg , 3” Double XR and Carlson choke tube shooting baseball pattern at anything under 20 . I’ve never seen a turkey fly as far as he did this morning. Definitely a hunt I won’t forget

Zach - Check out Meadow Creek Mounts for your red dot. I find that this mount allows you to easily reach the red dot and also provides a wider field of view compared to a receiver mounted red dot. I have both and find I much prefer the ribbed mounted red dot.

That’s what I’m shooting and I find it helps my dot be clearer with my astigmatism. A red dot on the receiver is to close and is blurry.

The word you're looking for is "canting". It's the same principle that applies to a projectile shot out of a bow. That's why they put bubble levels on bow sights. If you're canting your constant kinetic energy spring or your scatter cannon to one side or the other, the projectile will drift off in the direction that you're canting your weapon.
