It’s all personal preference, mine is red on the rear of the vehicle only, amber should only be in the front….personal preference though.

I have a 19 ram reading autopark enabled vehicle not in park, I can’t get it to go back to park to start truck and tuning shop said that I need the bypass adapter to be able to get the autopark off for truck to shift back into park have you ran into this issue

I have not, this truck was a manual. But they are correct if it’s not a dealer with “proper” software you will need a work around to get into the BCM. Once in the Body Control Module you can clear, correct, unlock, lock tons of features.

I would refer you to the owners manual, however to my knowledge that weight alone is under the max, but you must take into account the weight of the trailer.

Yes……it’s been a while but I believe I went in to the body computer and changed the computer setting to led….I used alfaobd, if you don’t have that the dealer can do it. I swapped the taillight bulbs to leds and that’s what caused it.

@@joshp.2237 it’s a really good program, tons of videos on use….and tons of things can be adjusted / turned on without going to a dealer. All in after paying for the program, blue tooth obd tool to connect and for newer rams a security bypass harness…..I think $150 ish…..dealer charges 100 to do anything. I’ve turned on tow mirrors, changed tire size for speed correction, changed fuel tank and was able to change the size in the truck to read correctly on fuel gauge….well worth it.

I have a 2016 f150. Do I need the adapter since I have a back up camera? Their website says I need one but I’m assuming your truck has a backup camera as well and I didn’t see you use an adapter.

Yes it does, that’s the primary way to use the trailer brakes….however in the event your trailer starts swinging back and forth you don’t want to use the vehicle brakes…it can cause you to loose control, rather apply the trailer brakes alone and you in most cases will stop the swinging without loosing the steer ability (this is usually caused by over loading the tongue weight)

have you ever heard of permatex adhesive,, amazon has it,, excellent stuff, i'm going to reinforce my plug housing on the spare tire side of the bumper ,, it's like a silicone glue,, but better, i may even gently pry the trailer side out just a smidge and force a bead around it and the bumper face to help, i use black permatex, it'll also help keep water and debris out to prolong the plugs life

No, we have had zero problems to date…..….ours may have the best results because at home it’s under cover, and at work it’s under cover…..I honestly believe that most people who have problems have them because the screws were over torqued and the light housing cracked. Just my opinion though.

You may be able to do it without, but I found it made it easier to remove due to the one nut that’s really tuff to get too.

M stands for manual recording, if you turn on event recording manually, which is different that regular recording. In the app you can change the side area swipe function to turn on manual recording, which triggers it as a manual event. :)

Awesome video! Very informative. I had purchased one of the fuse relay panels which was completely wired already a few years ago. I ended up selling that vehicle and now want to install another panel on my new truck. The company who sold me the complete one is apparently no longer in business so I’m having to build on my own. What length bar did you install? Also, it looks like the light is delayed compared to the brake light. I mean that the bar doesn't light up the first blink. Is this normal?

Yes it is how it was designed, to decode turn from brake….there is a slight delay. And it’s the 48” bar.

The z71 is a lot better than the zr2 for towing as stated in the beginning of this video and I can verify that as an owner. The Duramax will start to pull better around 16k- 20k miles at least for me and it was noticeable difference.

I saw someone else asked this. But what did you do about the two little bump outs in the sheet metal under the tailgate? Did you mount directly onto them? Or did you make a spacer so that the light bar sits on a completely flat surface?

The brake light out indicator is probably the cargo light on the cab. It is on the same circuit as the passenger brake light.
