Buy the same radios they use get the programming software and program the program the proper info.There is a setting in the programing under Rx and then Tx in which one is for receiving and the other is transmitting so what you do not to break the law is not setup the transmitting part and now you have access to listen.

Now they encrypted lol vhf works use a mobile repeater or remote receiver just put up repeaters to cover the area. I hate government more control less we hear system goes down no one talks

This is the most ridiculous video filled with utter BS! They are trying to make a comparison between VHF and 800 MHz frequencies when that has nothing to do with anything. The old radio system had issues and it needed to be upgraded to P25 digital so that the audio quality would be better like they show you at the end of this video. But they should have left the frequencies the new system uses at VHF because they work best in the type of geographic area that St. John’s County is located. The problem wasn’t that the old system was on VHF, it was that it was out of state and not planed out properly. Now that the county is on these horrible 700/800 MHz frequencies they had to construct many new towers sites so they could cover an area that VHF could have done with about 4 tower sites. Thus lowering the cost of the system.

The community can't focus and build around the current 240k people but needs to plan big and prepare for the estimated over 400k that will live here very soon!

Strange, the radio at the beginning sounds like it has been through a vocoder. Sounds like the GSM vocoder or maybe ACELP.
