Nice video and nice review. I like that you take pics with film and digitally. I have this lens, the USM type, and I love it. f/1.8 is hard to beat. The reason that the 85mm is so old, is because it's a popular focal length... You probably want a new(er) version of it though. USM is good. // Although I should have opted for the 100mm Macro lens... for the Macro capability. Would that replace my 85mm? Dunno.

It should work on it. It might look slightly different on any newer generation camera but you’ll get it very close. It should have a great vibe to it. Let me know if you try it. Best of luck!

Honestly, given the price of a used XT2, I really considered buying it, but the video features of the XT3 which could very well last me a long while, and a little thing is the headphone jack being directly on the camera instead of on the battery grip is quite good, especially for taking quick videos that require audio at the same time. Although I read that the XT2's video is still beautiful, while I have the money I might as well get the XT3 because for my use case I want to take both photos and videos I'd be satisfied with.

Love this film sim! I came across it online one day when browsing for recipes not from Fuji x weekly (nothing wrong with FXW just not many recipes for x trans I), and have enjoyed it ever since. I’ve seen some of your videos in the past and didn’t even realize it was the same person. Thanks for sharing this!

I like that you mentioned the part about the graphite one versus the black one. I’ve been looking for a graphite one, but can’t seem to find one right now for under four or $500. I think since the Fuji line started to get so trendy now, everybody wants a Fuji camera - especially a cool graphite retro looking one. I’m hoping the hype slows down sometime soon so I can actually afford to get the graphite one instead of the black.

Hey Craig, I watched both videos and yes, I could have gotten away with just this one but there was a lot of detail in the first one. Great video! I'm recently fairly handicapped following a massive stroke so I'm looking at alternatives to my old Nikon D7000 and Fujifilm keeps cropping up. Like many other reviewers you concentrate on the sensor and its exceptional colour and B&W rendering capabilities - so are you recommending relying on out-of-the-camera jpeg photos rather than RAW then software editing? That does appeal to me now as I really dislike S/W editing due to the challenge of hands that are very slow and not at all dextrous. Cheers.

Great review, thanks! I love the small f2 Fuji primes for street stuff. But I do notice that the new f1.4 ones do offer significantly better image quality in terms of sharpness, aberrations and general rendering. However I wouldn't say one is better than the other. They are different tools for different situations.

@CraigBergonzoni
@CraigBergonzoni 28 күн бұрын
What lens do you have on your 2000? Usually aperture settings are only limited by your lens. Is it possible your lens only opens up to 4.0? This is often the case with kit lenses like 18-55mm or lenses like that.

I have neither, but I have the xpro1 and the xt1 which have the 1st and 2nd gen sensors, the same as the E1 and E2. I actually prefer the gen one sensor. I mean, megapix isn't that huge of an issue since its 16 apiece. but I do love the way it renders colors in the gen one sensor. Especially red.

I am a recent convert to Fujifilm. I managed to get an X-T2 that was “as new.” The photos it can produce are stunning. I was a Canon user but the Fuji allows me to focus more on discovering subjects to photograph rather than fiddle with a camera. The lenses are among the best on the market. Many thanks for producing such an excellent video.

1:37 You can use manual focus lenses with OVF….
@CraigBergonzoni
@CraigBergonzoni 2 ай бұрын
True. You can but they don’t adjust the frame lines so you can account for parallax when framing a shot. Some MF Voigtlander X-mount lenses move the frame lines on the X-Pro3 but not on the X-Pro1 or X-Pro2.

@@CraigBergonzoni … but thats logical, it even is not possible with an expensive analog Leica… but you can use the small focus EVF frame as focus assistant and you will get a feeling for the offset. The farer away the object is, the less it’s important….the small EVF helper within the OVF is a genius strike… hybrid…

I purchased my first SLR in 1987. It was the Canon EOS 650, with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. I still have both. They still work. I still love them. I also have the EOS 5 (European version of the A2e), which became my favorite film camera. There's never been a need (or desire) to jump from brand to brand. Canon EOS has always given me the features I needed (except the 650 did not have multiple exposures). Once I went digital, it was great not having to start over with lenses.

You can easily adjust the hard stop for infinity focus. And for people saying it’s for compensation of the thermal expansion : I travel from freezing cold areas to the hottest ones, never had an issue. And if so, it would take 10min to set it back. Also, some high grade manual lenses don’t have this buffer and are very well calibrated from factory… Really try it, it then becomes a dream to shoot at infinity focus :)

@@RevynStrider remove the 4 screws on the lens mount. Carefully remove the mount without damaging the electronic band behind, Then put some shims before putting back the lens mount. You can buy a shim set for airsoft for example, with shims from 0.1mm to 0.3mm. Then, take pictures on a tripod and make some tests :)

Hey, would you recommend still getting the X-T2 or X-T20 for 479€ used? My focus is about 60% video and 40% photo and i don't care about viewfinders. If not i'd go with the ZV-E10 for 479€ user as well.

@highermusic111 I managed to pick up an A6500 for 500€. Since I want to upgrade to full-frame in the next few years, I chose the Sony E-mount and bought a full-frame lens. To be honest, based on your needs, I'd recommend the A6500, A6100 (it can't shoot in log tho, but might be the cheapest of all three), or the ZV-E10 (it can record gyroscope data). Just go with whichever is the cheapest of the three. Spec-wise, the two Fujis might be better, but they lack good lens selection and software support. PS: If you have a little more budget, wait until summer, the ZV-E10 Mark II might be crazy good for its expected price.
