head down the motorway as though your heading into town but take the turn right as though you want to go up the gorge but turn south before you hit the lights once you go under the overpass and you will be on the road in front of the car at time mark 0:36

The Aramoana helped rescue quite a few people when the Wahine wrecked at Wellington in 1968. Just a few years later when Union suspended their service to Lyttelton, the Aramoana had to be rebuilt to accommodate the increased surge in traffic

Went on this ferry twice during 2010 before this happened. First was a rough crossing - Never felt as if the ship was dodgy but my mind has certainly and unfortunately changed. Glad I'll be sailing on the Kaiarahi this time round! I'm glad to see KiwiRail and Interislander looking to buy two new bigger vessels by 2022. A much needed, beneficial upgrade.

@@Otiraxo_ no none of them if any it will be kaihari because kaitaki is realitivly new addition to the fleet and arateare got the extention and kaihari is extremly old hand me down ship so is all of them these new ships will be made exactly for the straight crossing.

What a shame our short sighted gov has decided to cancel it, and kick the can down the road for someone else to deal with.

As a child I sailed several times on a '`Sister ship'' by Dennys of Dumbarton...the Falaise ferry between England and France...that ship could roll...A tragic Sister was 'Princess Victoria'' involved in a dreadful disaster twixt Eire and Scotland. The open car deck 'guillotine'' doors were stoved in..dreadful tragedy. Poor Souls.
