One of the best drumming performances ever ?

I saw this band perform this entire album from beginning to end back in maybe 2004 or right after the album came out. I really can't remember. But I thought it was pretty incredible. The issue was I was kind of over music at that point. All my favorite bands were gone, and this new music was taking over. I think I just wanted to not care. I just saw a funny video of the current drummer listening to Rush and not knowing who they were and I was like this is fake as shit ahaha. But it got me thinking about them again, so here I am. This is a great album. No denying it.

This album is so annoying, but it's one of the best of all time. No idea how I was so into this when I was 16, but it sounds even better to me 10 years later.

One of a few classic albums that manifested regardless of the genre and era. There's old-new classics like "Dark Side of the Moon", and "Sgt. Pepper's", to "Ok Computer", "De-Loused", to "Polygondwanaland". So many obscured amazing albums that we'll never know.

This masterpiece is not an album, it’s one long beautiful song, a dedication to their dead friend. There are no breaks except for the stupid KZfaq ads. “If you only knew the plans we had for us”

Read an article yesterday about John Frusciante's love of Mars Volta and how he tried to implore Jimmy Page to play a solo with them. That immediately got me curious and came here to give it a listen. I am now going through my 3rd listen of what I am certain will become countless listens. I can't wait to venture to the 2nd album, but I'm going to wait a while. Why wait? Call it musical foreplay.
