I love Josuke over Jolyne for 1 reason only: Josuke had more time to be a character. If Jolyne had some downtime or lower stakes encounters, I’d probably like her more. But Josuke has the perfect balance of character arc and character flatness. He isn’t just dragged along through a character arc like Jolyne; who does have a cool arc, I’ll be the first to admit. Josuke has a simple arc: confidence. At the start, all of his confidence is coming from his hair. He attaches all of his confidence to his appearance and being kind and amiable to everyone, but he slowly starts to gain confidence in who he is. From the Ratt fight, to the first Kira Encounter, to the Final Battle. Josuke hardens his resolve, but never loses the beaming heart that defines him. His a diamond in the rough, and he is unbreakable.

Pretty much all quirks don’t improve durability or speed. So why aren’t guns more commonly among villains? Like sure endeavor could turn you into the very best like no one ever was, but if you are quick enough at drawing then you could cap him in a second. And I’m not sure, but we haven’t seen enough from All might and Deku to decide whether they are bulletproof.
