Jonny man, your positivity in the face of the bad is inspirational! I watched this after drinking some electrolytes before my 'let's get back to running' run, and you bet I'm doing it now, great video!

Just watched your video in Edinburgh, as a heavy athlete my self I always thought it wouldn’t be possible for me to run with loads of muscle mass but after watching your videos I know it’s possible and just a process. Keep doing what you’re doing !

Sick vid! When would you choose to run in quicker shoes e.g. if you’re training for a sub-4 hour marathon, would they benefit me during the race or ruin my feet, please?
@Jonnyrdavies5 ай бұрын
When I was running at that pace carbon plate super shoes still had a decent benefit. I think it comes down to a financial question as they’re a lot more expensive than daily running shoes. So if you can swing a pair of race shoes then I would for sure get a pair

Would love to see a video about how you put all of this together - when did you start using resources like The Running Room, how did you choose and set up with your physios? Looks like you had a team for the 70k, how did you go from not running at all to have a full-blown team?? As outsiders it seems like you have it all sussed, so the journey there would be v interesting. Good work mate, love the first two vids

Awesome Jonny, you smashed it!! The biggest thing I’ve found to help with the toe issues is Injinji Ultra specific toe socks! They look terrible but they work so well to stop any friction and I’ve now run 6 ultras in them without a single blister! This looked like such a fun event with the quicker second half!

Wondering how much weight he put on during this ultra eating jogwalk.🙂
@Kelly_Ben5 ай бұрын
Ultras are NOT the place for counting calories. If weight is your primary concern, ultras probably aren't the best format for you. The number of miles covered requires fuel, and plenty of it if you want to perform to your best. (Besides, some of us enjoy the eating aspect of ultras... I had a bowl of mac n cheese topped with keilbasa at my last ultra, boy did that hit the spot! 😂)
