Jerry Cantrell is so smooth, brilliant, laid back and humble. Fvck yeah!🎉

The drummer gets some mad props for this performance. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE - including past/present Alice in Chains - rushes this song, live. It feels so unnatural to play it at a draggy tempo, but, if you don't, you lose that grungy, edgy slop that draws you into the dark desperation of the original.

If Layne Staley was still alive, he would never have allowed any of Alice in Chains songs to have been performed by Steel Panther. Layne Staley was never like Ralph Saenz, never would've liked the guy.

alice in chains was a glam metal band at first bro ☠️
@transparenteye72342 ай бұрын
@@fredbear97 I'm not a bro, I'm female and no they didn't start off glam, why? Because they didn't about the same junk Steel Panther sings and they never dressed the same way they did either.
@fredbear972 ай бұрын
@@transparenteye7234 they were a glam band, all it takes is a google search to figure that out. plus steel panther is a satire band and jerrys signature guitar has a girl flashing her boobs on it so they aren’t saints either.
@fredbear972 ай бұрын
@@transparenteye7234 it was, google it. also jerrys signature guitar has a women flashing on it so they aren’t saints in that regard either.

Would have been so much better if they shut the fk up in the beginning!!! Jerry wasn't having a very good time with that dumbass' arm around him.... He needed to get to his pedal board!!! I honestly thought Steel Panther was a gag-band... I literally thought they were a joke!! If it weren't for Jerry and Gavin, they couldn't have pulled this song off that smoothly!!

So a surviving member of a band gets up on stage to play with members of a band parodying a genre they were “against” coming up, and with a guy with the same name as the first bass player they had, and also shares the stage with a guy whose band is constantly heckled for being a poor imitation of his own band? It’s like some sort of ironic universal clusterfuck, and I’m here for it.

Others may be able to learn it and play most of the notes right (you listnin' Henley?) but NOBODY plays it like Felder. He did write the music after all. And I'd about as soon hear Tommy play it with him as Walsh, tho Felder and Walsh were great as well. But there just seems to be more joy here. Felder might be better off after all as a solo artist. He just seems alive now.

Goddamn! I have been a fan of both Godsmack and Alice in Chains since the early 00's, and I am even pretty aware of the criticism the former has received throughout their career because of the similarities between the bands (besides the band's name being a song by Alice, both bands have records entitled "Facelift" and "Faceless" and so on). I always wondered if Sully ever crossed paths with Jerry, and this has just confirmed it. Would be cool if they collaborated someday. They didn't interact here much though. (Sully is 5'5, I know that as a fact, so that makes Jerry at least a strong 5'11).
