Got a question, my driveshaft connected to the transfer case seal is leaking oil between them two, and also has some play. When I’m going about 40mph or at a steady pace with my foot on the pedal sometimes I hear and can slightly feel a rattling noise and I believe it’s the driveshaft transfer case? What could be some possible issues? 09 toyota matrix awd 2.4L 161k miles.

The plastic wheel trim on my 2013 actually had its adhesive totally fail - just... stop being sticky, which is wild to me that they'd make detents in the car body which fit clips, which are then glued to the actual trim part - seems like it's unnecessarily complicated but maybe there's a good reason to do it that way. I ended up just duct taping it with this black gaff tape I have - it was meant to be a temporary measure but the tape has done such a good job through rain, snow, and heat that I might just keep it. On the same side, the bumper cover is also coming loose at that same connecting point and I suspect it's because the body work the car had done due to an accident prior to my ownership wasn't done correctly and its slowly come loose over the years. No clue what I'm gonna do about it because unless it's a potential safety hazard, I can't justify the cost to fix it. The amount of money I have spent on this car would have been enough for a better car. I would get a newer Tiguan in a heartbeat (well, it is kinda pricey on parts), but the rate of parts failures has my mechanic stumped and has me unable to save any money. Every 3 - 6 months for the past three years I'm coughing up 1k+ on a bunch of work it needs done... not even mentioning the peeling paint and resulting rust above the windshield that I just cannot afford to fix.

Man great video , very informative. I like the detail you showed for each step and the notes you write on the bottom of the video . You have convinced me it’s worth it to pay a shop for this task lol . When I was young I had no choice but to fix this stuff, now I’m old and have enough money to pawn this off :)

With high hopes, i got an OBD device to check the status of the timing chain on my VW Golf 2.0 TDi. When I went to live data, the OBD software GUI didn't allow me to enter any value for the live data channel. Instead a list of live parameters is only what I could access, of which "Camshaft adjustment adaptation" was not listed. Camshaft position start of phase window, Camshaft position end of phase window, Camshaft adaptation intake bank 1 phase position, Camshaft slope position were the only options I could see in the list. I tried the app on both android and iOS and the options are still the same. I am on the free version without any credits or upgrades. Can someone let know what am I missing here. 1:42 1:42 1:42

You can get to those bottom two bolts much easier if you jack up the passenger side and either remove the wheel, or turn the wheel to the right. A long 3/8 extension helps a lot. Also, I found it easier to just remover the whole air filter box.

For those wondering the "proper" tool for removing the axles is a slide hammer. A local auto parts franchise had a "loaner" program where you could borrow one for a short period for free. For my Corolla Matrix I had to purchase a 63mm "large" cv axle puller attachment as the smaller (I think 40 something mm one that was available through the loaner program was not the right size). Points to Breno for the resourceful approach, but the sledgehammer trick for some reason just wouldn't get mine out. With the slide hammer it came out in under a minute.

Outstanding video. Thank you for the information you shared. I have a 2007 Toyota Matrix, as I understand is the same as a Corolla, I paid a mechanic to change the clutch and flywheel. I lack time and tools to get the job done myself. From the day I picked up my car I have had an ongoing issue that I never had prior to the clutch and FW replacement. You maybe able to shed light on what might be the problem. When driving, regardless of speed, if I go over irregular road surface, e.g. train tracks, the RMP will drop out completely for an instant and then resume. Now the problem has gone from that to stalling the car. It will start right up again and then drive no problem until the next time it happens, which could be at any moment or go for days without a problem. In trouble shooting this I have replaced the spark plugs, fuel pump assembly, mass air flow sensor and cleaned the intake system. All work done by mechanic (different mechanic who changed out the clutch and FW) parts and labour another $550.00. We also checked any fuse issues, loose wire harness, ground terminals, and love tapped almost the entire top surface of the engine to see if there's a loose connection somewhere. No luck. When the clutch and FW were replaced is there a chance that a cable has been stretched or plug that isn't connecting properly in a less obvious place other than the top side of the engine be the cause of this worsening intermittent problem? Any suggestions/advise is welcome. Many thanks, Steve.

So is there any "trim" on those shifter cables? This looks a lot like my celica's manual transmission and it has stopped going into the lower gears on the stick, 2, 4, and reverse. It is like if I could pull the stick down just a little more it would go into gear every time.

Sir, is it necessary to completely drain the cooling system before using this device? It seems that the physics would be the same whether the system is only partially drained or fully drained given that under vacuum, only air pockets change volume while the liquid does not change volume.

Just did the compressor clutch job yesterday and the exact same thing happened on my test ride today. Tomorrow, I’ll be climbing back under the car and having a look to see if the body of the compressor is all reamed out like yours. Ugh. I live in upstate NY and everything is rusty and a challenge. That clip holding in the field coil was rusted in, making its removal quite challenging. Took me hrs to get everything apart. Tofay, I heard a rattling sound and opened the hood and alas, the field coil was spinning, wires clanking around. Bummer. Thanks for sharing all of this content!

I tipped my mowere over and I just used my hand to push the spring forward a little bit and then used a flat bar to help keep it there. Was way easier than getting under it and doing it.
