Chain guide chain tensioner and a chain with a little more bawls and you can sell these if you get them set up for mass production.

Are these surplus vehicles? My mind is blown the military would let them get that bad before decommissioning them

Had an ex-Bundeswehr 67 Unimog for years. Same janky door and "window" vinyl nightmare. You're going to learn a lot about "ambient temperature" and wind noise on the highway. 😆

"It's not a bobcat" sounds so much like a slap in the face in this context, like the kid insulted your mother and you couldn't have any of that.

I replaced a water pump on a 6.2 HMMWV in the dark with just a Chem light. Only tools I had was a pair of vise grips, a Leatherman and the one Allen key you need. Good times.

I took a welding class and I suck at MIG welding. I was pretty good with gas and stick though.

Having driven a military vehicle from Kuwait to Baghdad, I feel your pain. I would love to get a HMMWV to play around with. You should try and track down a fiberglass rear top for a HMMWV. We installed a few on some HMMWVs at my first unit.

The problem with your humvee probably is a stuck check valve. On the front of the pump remove the ball and blow it out. That might get you working again.

i remember we started having to have mechanics QA the humvees before we signed them out for use. first year or so EVERY vehicle it seemed had NUMEROUS problems. also remember breaking NUMEROUS tools working on them

As someone who has put many miles while driving at top speed in these, yes they are loud, you cant hear shit, while driving maxed out the radiator fan comes on constantly, and doing over 65 is scary.

2 things: 1: check the trans fluid in the truck. 2: DO NOT EVER JUMP a HUMVEE unless you have the correct military cables. You will fry the electronics.
