I'm in an apartment so so far I've done basil and marigolds on our porch. We eat green beans with every other meal so I'm going to add them soon. I dried and froze a ton of basil this year so I'll probably reduce from a whole pot of basil to just one plant and add some other herbs to the pot.

Hello sir, maybe for the control of tumbler speed you could use some power electronics to regulate the current to the motor via a pwm controller or just have 2 different modes of operation through passive power electronics. Another suggestion is to fully integrate the solar panels which output dc voltage to control and automate tasks in the garden, but that would require much more work. Best of luck, great content.

I grew up on a (for the period) large dairy farm (700 acres) in the 50/60s. I spent not a few hours cranking a ancient hand power winnowing 'machine' made of wood. We raised oats, one time wheat, and my comment is I think your airflow is (a) to heavy for oats, (b) not enough volume and (c) same for 'trash' air space. I was 10ish and at that age you cannot turn that big wooden fan at any great speed, the output for chaff and debris was large and the grain simply dropped out of the bottom. I say this, it could be (probably is) as wrong as possible, as I am working from 70 some yo memory. But Lord knows I just love that machine and attempt!!! Reminds me of those childhood times, which I am sure remember a lot nicer than they lived.

Wow explains very clearly, and a genius idea, really thanks Can it be connected to any air conditioner? Also with a portable air conditioner? Does it matter what refrigerant is in the compressor? And once again thank you very much

After watching the video, why don’t you just put the unit in another room where it’s warm and focus more time and Money on creating a Duct to just harness the air from the vents ( you can still use your inkbird controller to shut the ac off and on controlling the tempts in the room ) ,,, That way, like I said, you could place the units somewhere else where it would never freeze up if the air is blowing somewhere else in another room like I said 🤷🏽( I was thinking you could control the actual temperature of the air but now I think about it it’s one temp always coming out the A.C ) …….

I can tell you if you think an led bulb is going to cycle the system fast enough to keep it cold for things other than vegetables and things that require average refrigerator levels your insane , i have tried all variations of tricking an ac unit to perform at optimum levels and a cool bot does a lot more than this gentlman claims. You will never get a cooler to stay at safe levels for game doing this nonsens

Do you happen to know whether a 2000 watt generator will run/start up a 10,000 btu air conditioner? I plan to build my cool room where there is no electricity. thanks so much!
@LivingGoodAlaska
@LivingGoodAlaska 5 күн бұрын
The air conditioner will have a continuous draw of nearly 2000 watts with a surge/start up draw of much higher. The continuous draw will suck a bunch of fuel and be hard on both machines and the start up surge will be likely to trip the overload on the generator constantly, causing the cooler to malfunction when you’re not around. The 2000 watt will probably run it in an emergency but for continuous use I would get a larger generator. I hope this helps🙂

@@LivingGoodAlaska Thanks so much! Very good answer, well explained! I may have to rethink this project. (Though I’ve purchased all the stuff….the incremental cost is getting quite a bit higher for something I may use for only a couple days, or not need it at all. Thanks again!

This was great. Since you asked for opinions, I will take that invitation. 😊. It truly was wonderful. I’m glad you said that the directions are in the description. I did read through it. What would have been perfect for me would have been the high points in the video laid out in words at the correct timing: however much time before the first frost. Separate cloves, loosen soil. Plant rows and cloves 6” apart, 2-3” deep…you get the picture. It was a GREAT video. Thank you! This fall is my first planting. I’m so excited!!

Very logical, very practical advise. I have n been struggling to keep up with washing lettuce once I get it home. I have a small apartment. You made me ask: why aren’t I washing it at the provided wash table on site, before it even wilts? Duh. Thanks!
@VegetableAcademy
@VegetableAcademy Ай бұрын
Good idea. An immediate wash for your lettuce will also help get the field heat out right away and that will prolong the storage life. Hopefully there is a method of drying the lettuce at the wash table as well, because too much moisture in storage will lead to rotting much quicker. We spin our lettuce after washing and then let it sit for a short period under a couple of box fans until the wet sheen has evaporated. Ideally, we'll get it into a refrigerated space without any moisture sitting on the leaves.
