Hi thanks for your interest in the video. I personally got permission from the owners of the mill to film it from the sign at the Main Street entrance as the site has security in place hope that helps cheers

What happened to the castle ? It was a 500 bed hospital during WWII with doctors and nurses quarters

So true castle sadly, is in a state of disrepair. There was a few ideas of hotels, or even the council taking it on the till date. Nothing has happened till it unfortunately.thanks for watching and commenting

Oh, I wish we could see inside of it and have a tour of the rooms! Read Deborah Mitford's memoir, "Wait For Me!" (11th Duchess of Devonshire) for some details of life inside the castle when she and her husband Andrew were in residence. Also, read "In Tearing Haste" the collected letters between Patrick Leigh Fermor and the Duchess. More collected letters with some dish about guests at the castle are in "Dashing For The Post."
