There is only one Native American wood, that I know of, tougher than dogwood… Osage Orange. A draw knife struggles to shear their interlocked grain.

It’s a great investment for me. I did have to save a little more, but I wanted the ability to resaw 12” if I needed to. The cheaper ones were only able to resaw 6-8”. I believe it’s still a great addition to the shop no matter which brand you choose.

The tool rest was from Amazon I believe and the bowl gouge I made in a different video. I made it from 1/2 cold work steel I believe. I still haven’t made a handle for it yet. Thanks for watching!

The circle will be 12 inches from one end of the circle to the other end, not half of it.
