You dont need to use anything to hold the head of the bolt it wont move because of how its built. Just need that 24 socket. Either use a impact, but if these bolts have never been taken out before, might want to use the socket with a power handle.

We had ours replaced at the same time we had the transmission out for a rebuild. That was about 3 years ago. The strut mounts are making noise again. I haven't decided if I'm doing it or paying someone. The kids are gone and my wife can't help me.

question, how loud is the DS60 for normal use? I have a few Netapp 4246 I am thinking about replacing with one of these. Trying to understand the differences in noise.
@TheDamaddog
@TheDamaddog 9 ай бұрын
Not sure how loud the 4246's are but the DS60 has a fair amount of noise. Seems about every hour or two it spins up louder. Thought it was because it was to warm but the cool air on the intake is pretty cold. Good luck

@@TheDamaddog ok, thank you for the insight. I may just stay with the 4246. I have 4 of them and they are shockingly quiet. Just trying to regain some rack space.

No actually you can just remove the battery pack. The system will alert and say battery decrease but nothing on the system is affected. When you put the pack back in you will again get alerted that the battery count increased.

@TheDamaddog
@TheDamaddog Жыл бұрын
@@suchartsanthithaweechai1844 not to sure what you are asking? This is a room UPS, should you shutdown your servers when doing this work? You could to be totally sure there is not a problem. But I never have done that when I replace a battery pack. The UPS keeps working and there is no interruption in power while doing this work.

@@TheDamaddog Does this mean I have to turn off the server before replacing the battery ups?
@TheDamaddog
@TheDamaddog Жыл бұрын
@@suchartsanthithaweechai8381 again I don't know why you would turn off a server to replace a battery pack on a large UPS like this. A battery pack like this is part of a unit that has over 60 battery packs in it. Removing one pack at a time will have no affect on the power going to any of the possible hundreds of servers connected to this UPS. Now if you are replacing a battery on a smaller rack UPS or personal UPS then yes you should shut down any servers connected to this UPS. But if that is the case you are looking at the wrong video.

This video literally ended on the part that I needed to see lol. When I go to jack up the wheel assembly, it puts pressure on the pinion and looks like it's going to pop it out. Everything bows out in such a questionable way that I feel like I'm going to break something.

@TheDamaddog
@TheDamaddog 2 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the three bolts that you need to put in from under the hood? If so the key is that you need to twist the whole strut so that they line up on top. Easiest if you use a jack to hold or have a second person. The second person is best best they can be looking on the top and try to insert the first bolt while someone else twists the strut.

How many miles were on the original set? I have 95k on my 2014 and am probably going to replace mine in the next 6 months, along with my brakes. I'm hoping the bolts and nuts aren't rust welded on with being in Michigan. I replaced the shocks on my wife's van and had to end up taking it in to a shop for the rear shocks because I couldn't get the bolts loose.

I didn't get the best shocks, so now in paying for it because the noise has returned. I'm going to change out the struts again with quality ones this time. If the noise persist, I'll change my shocks with the help of your great video!

@@TheDamaddog ok. Thank you. One more question. Is there anything specific that I need to be aware of? I ask because I’ve done both front assemblies, however, on the driver side (was the good side) is now making a popping/clicking noise when I turn the wheel. The original bad side was the passenger side but it seems to be all good. I’ve gone through it twice. What am I missing? Over torquing?
@TheDamaddog
@TheDamaddog 3 жыл бұрын
Not really sure. A popping noise is different. Let me do.some research on torque and see if that could causing a problem. Did you use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts up? If so what did you torque it to?
@jarredwhite1446
@jarredwhite1446 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheDamaddog no I don’t have a torque wrench. The 2 main bolts from strut to knuckle I tightened really tight. Breaking them free was very difficult so I assumed they needed to be tightened way down. Same with the sway bar to upper strut. Not as tight as the lower 2 but tight non the lass.
