Hey, so I de-registered at my current institution and did not write any exams and my nsfas status says registration received, so I've applied to another institution. Will nsfas still fund me on the other institution?

Hey and yes it's possible but wouldn't advice for you to just go and study at Unisa for 6 months because you would have been wasting your Nsfas study duration.

Thank you for this information. My niece is doing her second year at UJ, but she is pregnant and they don't allow her to stay at Res when she's 7 months gone. She's 6 months and won't go back there next semester, meaning she won't finish her second year but she is willing to continue next year, 2025, with her course at another university nearby here in KZN because of the baby. How should she go about this process, will she be able to get NSFAS after this semester gap? She is doing Chemical Engineering, please advise.

If she won't deregister for this year, then she will continue getting her Nsfas allowances this year. But the issue is that she will not write her exams and that will mean she will obviously fail her exams and Nsfas will reject her. Next year she can appeal for Nsfas and say she couldn't continue her studies due to the fact that she was pregnant but she must keep in mind hat she'll be left with only 2 years from nsfas to continue funding her if they approve her appeal

Hello...I would like to know if I would be admited to another University if I deregister at NMU after finishing my first because of funding error and will I be funded if I apply at another institution??

You'll be funded as long as you have passed, and also, as long as you haven't exhausted your funding years. Bare in mind that if you deregister and no register at any university during that particular year, you'll have to reapply for Nsfas

@@lethabosibeko The reason I'm thinking of deregistering, it because of funding...first at school they told that I was funded I should come attend then after March they said NSFAS have provided them with a new list of funded student which they don't see my name in it. I'm confused what is wrong because they also provided me with a laptop and 2 month meal allowance...but that happened before they say I was not funded What would you have done if it was you facing this challange??

What does you Nsfas status say? If it says that you are funded than you are. I would advice you yo contact them and send them emails yo actually find out what's going on. Dropping out for coming that can be solved will be unnecessary

"Awaiting Evaluation". I asked them at school about it before I even started attending class's and they said I should not worry about it since I received a clearance sms...only to find out now that they don't see my name on funded student list. I tried calling NSFAS several times but they keep telling that they still processing my application I must keep on tracking it 🤦🏽♂

Awaiting evaluation means you are yet not funded, and that's very much concerning because we are approaching June, and Nsfas is still processing applications. There is nothing more for me to say but for you to do what you think will be best for you honestly because remember that even if you deregister at Unisa, you will still owe them their fees since you have already started the school academic year

I am a first year at unisa and I was applying at NWU AND during the process they asked that I studied at another university i indicated yes and they asked for previous academic record so I still have to wait for next year to get it cause the year it not yet over

Hey, it's very much possible? How different are the modules? If the modules are the same, you'll be credited for them and that will mean you'll transfer as a 2nd year but that's only if the modules are exactly the same

Hey, you'll have to go at the institution in order to deregister. Please note you only deregister when you've registered

heyy can i please ask what happens if you're doing Education and you're a first year and you wanna transfer from one uni to another but the uni you wanna go to you dont meet their minimum aps requirements you're in short of 2 points and at the uni you're at you passed your modules veryyy well will they look at that will it be an advantage ?..and another thing is the unis have completely different modules in Education

Hey, you still want to do Education and are the modules similar? If yes than you'll apply to do your 2nd year there and your modules will be credited. Obviously that will mean they will use your academic transcript and not your grade 23 if not mistaken

Hey no, you don't reapply, and you'll get your allowances. Your Nsfas (Funding) won't be affected

I changed from UJ to UL, my nsfas status( Application approved) i called nsfas and i patiently waited for them to amswer they told me that i should've reapply because i also changed causes. Meaning i will be not funded this year

Hey, don't worry. People who are on Nsfas already don't need to reapply unless you took a gap year. If you've watched my videos, I have said many times that when you a transfer student, the process of you getting your allowances will take time.
