did you ever finish the design? sadly, after two years of owning the genius, I'm still using the crappy stock spool holder + rollers... but it causes major z-wobble. so I was thinking of designing my own, but I'm lazy, haha, so if you finished something I'd love to try it!!!
@asadjibran Жыл бұрын
Yes I did! Unfortunately it's probably not great, but it did work out well for me, so you could try it out and see how it works for you. I was able to find a spool holder that I really liked: www.printables.com/model/65651-universal-filament-spool-holder I then build a small thing to mount it to the Genius, similar to the one in the video above. That mounting object has a slot where you can use a threaded rod that locks into place. On the open end of the rod you can mount the universal spool holder. Here's the mounting I made: www.dropbox.com/s/h1yviu46wh36ret/Genius%20Custom%20Spool%20Holder.3mf?dl=0 It worked very well for me. Infact, I had to add some foam between the mount and the spool holder to add some friction, as otherwise it would spin freely and end up unspooling a lot of filament while printing! :) Hope this helps you out as well! PS: There's a newer version of the universal spool holder which you can use as well: www.printables.com/model/66440-universal-filament-spool-holder-gen-2

hello, Can you give me the link to download the firmware because I can't find it at 3DUK. Thank you
I've been a PrusaSlicer user since I started. While Cura is pretty good, I find that PrusaSlicer profiles for the Genius work better for me.

@@asadjibranplease, would you pass me a profile prusaslicer with nozzle 0.8
@asadjibran2 жыл бұрын
@@GiuseppeLepore Wish I could help, but I changed my laptop a few months ago and don't have the 0.8mm profile anymore. I found that 0.6mm was a much better compromise b/w speed of printing and quality and I've been using that for the past couple of months.
@asadjibran2 жыл бұрын
@@GiuseppeLepore To add to my last answer, I started with the built in 0.4mm profile for the Genius (Prusa Slicer comes with it now) and tweaked it to work with 0.8mm nozzle size.

dose this work with 3d touch ?
@asadjibran2 жыл бұрын
I'm not a 100% certain, so it's better if you look at the wiring diagram of the 3D Touch and make sure it's the same as the wiring diagram for the BL Touch. But I have seen some sites say that the 2 are compatible. If not, then you'll need to make some slight modifications to the firmware to work with the different wiring scheme.

@asadjibran2 жыл бұрын
Yes. The TFT firmware is different from the main board one and you can use a number of different ones. I chose rawr because I liked that feature set, but you can use others and it will work.
@awsome146192 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I just had a question. Do I print the mount with no supports? if I add supports it adds some on the inside where I won't be able to reach them. Also I can't find the small piece that connects the BL touch to the mount.
@asadjibran2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I'm happy you found the video helpful. I don't fully remember as it's been a few months, but I think the mount prints with no supports, standing up. I did have to use glue stick on the print bed to make sure it stuck to the bed, as it has a very small contact surface with the print bed. If you do need to print with supports, you can use the paint on supports feature in PrusaSlicer (help.prusa3d.com/en/article/paint-on-supports) to stop supports from being generated in places where you won't be able to remove them. Another quick hack I use is the "supports only on build surface" setting, which usually generates supports that I want. You should play around with the paint on supports and the supports only on the build surface setting to figure out what works best.

Can you do this on beta flight? Can you make video how to do this on beta flight
@asadjibran2 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for your comment. Yes, it's possible to fix the VTX cables and use Beta Flight to control the channels and other VTX parameters. I have another video on that which you can view at kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrl3fpB23NzMYH0.html. Hope that helps.

Hello bought this rtf kit and flew it once, the next time I tried to fly it doesnt show video anymore, would it have to do something with the vtx?
@asadjibran2 жыл бұрын
Probably. If it flies but has no video, the flight controller is most likely OK. You should start by checking the connections between the camera and the FC and from the FC to the VTX just to be sure a cable did not break. This video from Joshua Bardwell should be very helpful: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j5qJnNd60MiRfmw.html It's possible the FC has issues as well, but only in it's video system, in which case you can attach the camera directly to the VTX. This means you will loose OSD but at least your quad will be flying.

@asadjibran3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Good audio is something I still struggle with but understand how important it is, even more than video quality. Always trying to make it better. Big nozzles are just so much convenient for the right prints. I moved from a 0.8 to 0.6mm nozzle on this printer and have been very happy with the results. The prints finish faster, and quality doesn't suffer as much as it does with a 0.8mm nozzle.

When I am using Octoprint connected to Artillery Genius, will be BLTouch working ?
@asadjibran3 жыл бұрын
Yes. I'm using Octoprint as well. The BL Touch functionality depends on the G-code your slicer generates. If you've setup your slicer to do auto bed leveling before printing, it will work as expected. Octoprint only forwards the commands your slicer software decides, it doesn't do any pre-processing on those commands (by default, plugins are a different case).

@@asadjibran If I use M420 S1 without Z3, does it load the saved z offset by default ?
@asadjibran3 жыл бұрын
@@aidan2235 The M420 command only enables or disabled the mesh bed leveling. It does not effect the z-offset. You set the z-offset using the touchscreen once during initial calibration. The Z3 in the M420 command sets the fade height. The bed level correction is gradually reduced over the fade height, and then the bed level correction is disabled once the fade height is reached in the print. You can find some more info about the fade height if you're interested at marlinfw.org/docs/configuration/configuration.html#leveling-fade-height

Happy to hear this video helped! Personally I didn't tighten then too much, because they only hold the dampeners so in place, and the fc just sits between the dampers.
