Yet another interesting video, thank you for sharing whilst on holiday in QLD! Yes things are quite expensive here now but we just have to suck it up……and save where we can for another holiday in Sanur……ideally would be right now to escape this polar blast we are having 🥶 Aldi sea salt chips for us! Also a trip to Bunnings and a sausage sandwich would be welcome! Have a great time…..regards Lynette & Ken

Hi Richard, you seem to be giving the impression that you can't use and flush toilet paper on Bali. We are Bali regular visitors and always use toilet paper.
@anthonyhunt561Күн бұрын
Our house in Surabaya we use toilet paper and can drink from the tap, but prefer the water cooler.
@BalilifewithRichardКүн бұрын
A lot of places they say not to use toilet paper unless it’s the bamboo made stuff as it’s dissolves and doesn’t block up In the holiday resorts you can
@BalilifewithRichardКүн бұрын
It depends on the waste pipes they have used when building Most are smaller diameter and they don’t recommend flushing the paper Resorts are different though

Flushing toilet paper - really? I have never had an issue with that complex observation. I think that is really a bit of a non issue not a toilet tissue mate. Besides how cheap things are in Bali to Australia ( queensland) eg. Hats, shirts and the endless merry go round of retail goodies and the warmth- is there anything that you like Bali for other than that?
@BalilifewithRichardКүн бұрын
@@macleayexplorer the friendly locals, the ease of making friends with other expats are just some of the other reasons Bali is great for us It depends on the individual 👍

Those apartments are pretty good for the money for $240 p/n. There are many hotels on Sanur beachfront that cost as much as $240 p/n that are nowhere near as big or as well appointed. In saying that, there are many in Sanur that are under $50 per night which is unheard of in Australia, unless you want to stay in a donga.

There is no comparison, as living in any part of Australia is very ordinary. Bali is so much more cost effective in every way shape and form. Australia is no longer the lucky country.

The worst thing about visiting Bali is the “Bali price hangover”. You’re constantly aware in Australia just how eating out has become not just expensive, but seeing how service standards have fallen: reduced business hours, untrained/unhappy staff and business owners claiming they can’t make a decent profit notwithstanding putting their prices up. Only cure for the Bali hangover is of course to go back!

I try not to buy too many snacks or processed food and stick to fresh fruit, veg and minimal meat...occasionally mince or chicken. I always buy eggs and dried legumes for extra protein. Hi Richard, interesting you should mention coffee. We're in Sth Aust, just last night on the news (which we rarely watch main stream news) we were told that coffee is about to skyrocket because of poor growing seasons round the world. Cafe owners in Australia state that a coffee is already $1-2 per cup less than they should be but they fear if they put them up any further then nobody will buy anymore. They're talking about the costs possibly doubling. That will just about kill off cafes in Australia altogether. owner say that a co
