Hey Hanna Can i just say i am so envious,not just of the studio your way of living Who helped family & friends??..Do you mind me asking,did you pay for help or do you all help each other out??..I would love to live in a community where everyone helped each other in diffrent ways..So much talent here,i love the slower pace aswell..i feel like this is how we should be living,this is how we used to live,no wonder there are so many people suffering depression..Its a throw away society things don't mean that much anymore.. Also do you have to pay for the land you live on??..I would love to live this way..i grow veg,i have started growing flowers aswell,making my own compost,would love to keep bee's,you never know. Sending love & positivity 💜☮💜☮

Thank you so much for the update video its so nice to see you are happy and healthy! I really appreciate the walk through and the chat about the health of the willows, I have also suffered from blight and beetle this year though I cut down and burned my blighted willow as it took over the willow so fast I had no stems not effected I am looking forward to purchasing more land in the next few year and I plan to do pollard willow there thanks to seeing your trees and videos

Hanna dear, so glad that you are well and taking time for life balance. Your work is brilliant! Take good care of your hands, as repetitive motion can haunt you as you age. Blessings to you and your family. Is there a systemic drench that would eliminate the midges from your crops? So much labor/time to replace affected varieties. XX

Lovely to see you again! I'm hoping to plant a willow hedge to keep the cows and deer out. We're in a drier climate, we have a few months of no rain or irrigation water, so maybe I'll have to use something that acts similar to willow with a lower water need. And of course, it will need more protection from the grazing animals at first.

Hello Hanna! I was just going through my subscriptions and saw a vid by you. Great to see your patch! I have an ongoing issue too will the gauls..I do nip them out as soon as I see them.. My bigger issue is deer. I had to fence/net them out because more and more were coming to the feast! lol . I enjoy seeing your varieties and how you coppice and Pollard. Glad you are well.. Cheers from British Columbia! P.S. Great looking potato patch !!

@@CWorgen5732 Trouble is they browse the tips and thusly destroy the rods we are after...and they are very habitual. I've found that after a time being blocked out they do change habits and go off and browse the native willow I deliberately leave for that purpose.. My olde Dad used to say: Always provide a space for the rats (compost heap in mind ) because then you will always know where they are..!
@CWorgen5732
@CWorgen5732 29 күн бұрын
@@jasonsherlock7480 Yes, I'm thinking of doing a tall pollard. Hopefully tall enough to avoid most of the browsing, with an abundance of nearby trees. 🙂

It is lovely to see you again. Thanks to you, I planted a living willow fence this spring and it is growing well now. Your channel is a great inspiration. It is so important to take the time you need. My kids are growing into their adult phase now, too, and moving out. It feels so different and as you described it so well: once everything calms down and you don't need to be so hands-on all the time, you realize HOW tired you really are. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and also your beautiful craft :)

It looks like it is better to dry the willow standing? If you were drying smaller quantities, can it be laid on its side to dry? Also how long does it need to dry ? I have often been impatient & not allowed my willow to dry long before making something & that later shrinkage shows. Once dry it is good for how many year's? On your steaming video, it looked like you soaked prior to steaming? Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge!
