Very much appreciate this. I really like the fact the major seems are screwed, glued, and use the dominos as well.

Got the jack 2 weeks ago installed and was wondering there seems to be a small rivet in the parts bag of the plate. This is not a pop rivet but one that should be used with a rivet gun. Any idea why its in the bag?

I love seeing this kind of content on how my Hiker was made . I went through the factory when I picked up my trailer last year and saw the process. I picked it up late so many of the workers had quit for the day and a few came over to show me extra little things about my trailer . I really like your crew and how they spent extra time with me . We’re loving our trailer and camp in it regularly. My favorite part of the trailer is the wood . Cut some of your scraps into “samples “ to send to potential customers and you’ll sell more trailers .

Is that metal brace part of the "ac prep" package? Or separate?
@HikerTrailers
@HikerTrailers 17 күн бұрын
This would be part of the rooftop AC Prep. "AC Prep" or front AC Prep are more commonly the front passive vents we add as an option to a build.

You asked for things I'd like to see... 1. Side exhaust fans instead of roof mounted. Low profile fans like you see on a laptop venti g out of the sides near the roofline. The cut through of a standard fan is a leak point. 2. T-rails or other modular attachment points on the outside. I wouldn't ask you to copy them, but the modularity offered by the zion trailers is a huge plus. Being able to change what is mounted and carried with the trailer without having to drill holes all over is something that many would appreciate. 3. Expand options from your offroad to your mid range xl model like the stepable fenders and tire mounts. Cheers

I loved the comparison between Hiker and Boreas. Could you do a comparison with the Zion modular trailers and Hiker? Of course the Zion base model is stripped down and the stage 5 is completely outfitted. I’m seriously looking at a purchase and your trailer is in the running! Thanks

Ive always found it funny and ironic that wood gets a bad reputation from the overland guys specifically wood can rot when exposed to water. But people forget that companies like Chris Craft have wooden boats built in the 1930's that are literally soaked in water 24/7 for years and are subjected to hydraulic pounding of waves and engine vibrations on every outing....and those wooden boats are still on the water today. It boils down to how you build a wooden boat or in this case how you build a wooden camper. Another fact is that most people call themselves overlanders....but they are really more like over dirt roaders. That being said even the cheapest base model wooden teardrop trailer with leaf springs and street tires can handle what soft-roaders subject their campers to. They just need to be honest. If you are rock crawling then yes...spend the $30k on a tough camper built for rock crawling. I camped in a $7,000 Hiker and camped in a $30,000 Overland Expedition Vehicles full composite squaredrop (when they used to make them) and I honestly enjoyed both equally. I didnt test them off road but I got a good feel for them in general and I would be happy owning either one for just camping. Great video guys. See you at Overland Expo West!

Its hard to take a grown man seriously when he's wearing his crusty baseball cap backwards. Did you ever see the George Carlin bit about grown men wearing their baseball hats backwards ?? The background music sucked. In the future please save us the pain of having to listen to that awful Muzak bullshit. Muzak, background music and music-montages should NEVER be used in a video, thats the type of editing bullshit that my 64 year old uncle would do on his vacation videos and should not be used by anyone but amateur video makers. And for fucks sake, take off the flannel coat and try to look just a tad more professional, you're representing the company and... you're indoors for cryin out loud, take off your coats and stay awhile.

You truly dont need it. The limiting factor of these trailers is the TV which loses capability when towing as well as the length and clearance of the trailer.
