If most Filipinos start to love and support their own, not only PPop but Filipino Music in general will surely make it in the world stage, because Filipinos are all over the world, Filipinos got social media marketing power and most Filipinos can sing live and well, in fact there are already so many famous celebrities in US with Filipino blood like Bruno Mars, Apl de ap of black eyed peas, Olivia Rodrigo to name a few. Many lyricists and music producers behind hit songs in K-pop and Western songs are also Filipinos. So what's lacking? The full support of Filipinos to their own Filipino Music..🙄 If Filipinos can do that, international fans and recognition will follow..😊

IMO, maybe ppop can use a little idea from PH Pageantry. English is the main comm. (which should have been the edge of Pnoys since its the 2nd language), tap local designers/stylist but with global artistry level. For the fans, supporting multiple groups is OK. ppop is not just a representation of 1 or 2 groups.

I've had my own Indie Label and was an executive at another in the late 90's early 2000's. We were supporting Filipino-American Artists at that time. I am a strong follower of most P-Pop groups. While some of the content of this video is worthy and has merit, I would still say popularity is very important because it attracts sponsors (money). P-Pop can be improved but most of these labels are taking the segregated approach. Meaning most artists are not reaching the global world, thus too much focus on the Philippine fans alone. Other than ticket sales at concerts and sponsors, there should be a focus on Spotify Streams globally or in countries with the highest CTR (highest paid per stream). USA and Norway pay the most to artists per stream. With that said, IMO more P-Pop artists should sing more english songs, maybe 50% english, 25% Taglish, 25% Tagalog. More styles of songwriting and music production would help as well, including more collaborations with US artists. Gaining US fans especially in California should be a key objective. If Bini had a bigger fan base in LA and Bay Area, CA, They could probably sell VIP Bini-Verse tickets here for 10,000 - 15,000 pesos. (180 USD).

All you said here was nonsense, which is not logical and far from reality. All our PPOP groups can write songs and choreograph dances, but that's not their job in the first place. That's why we have producers and composers in the industry to develop our music to the greatest extent. Even the greatest singers and dancers needed help from others to achieve their goals; they couldn't do it alone. Even SB19 needed the choreography of the legend of the dance floor, scout leader Jay. When SB19's producers and composers helped them write proper songs, they couldn't do it themselves when they were starting. About the dedicated fans, that's far from reality. You can't ask people to be dedicated to you, but that doesn't mean they will leave you. The fans have control over whether they want to support an idol or not. You can't please them; all you say can't apply in reality. If a producer here says that, I'm pretty sure he will slap your face. That's not how the music industry works. The only thing I agree with you about is production, but I disagree about promotion, which is far from reality. First, those great talents like G22, VXON Kaia, and many more groups lack promotions, which is why they cannot reach the popularity of SB19 and BINI. In reality, they need production and promotion. at least be logical and practical in this cruel world. If you keep dreaming in your fantasy world where everything can easily be achieved, then you should not wake up, I guess 😂😂

I just want to correct you regarding SB kasi medyo di tama un pagkakakilala mo sa SB. Sure they need help from other skilled people now kasi sobrang busy nila, but when they were starting, obviously they have bosses and of course di sila un mag d-decide kung pwede ba silang mag compose ng song, but that does not mean they couldn't. Pablo has been composing songs since he was 14 yrs old (or maybe younger pa since yan lang un alam kong may full song na syang na compose). He got lots of unreleased songs (all masterpiece) sa sound cloud nya that fans are listening to. During pandemic, Pablo was able to write and compose a relevant song called "Ikako" which saved countless lives during times of uncertainty. Now, all of the members are composers (FELIP, Josh, Justin) composing and/or producing their solo songs. Stell on the other hand, while I don't know kung may composed songs din ba sya, but I know he wants to pursue theatre arts. and who knows, maybe he's bound to be one after SB19. About the choreography, right at the start, it was Stell and Ken who does their choreography. Their GO UP song which made them viral was Stell's choreography. Sir Jay, on the other hand, just got on board before or during WYAT era. Lastly, I believe you haven't been into our fandom that's why you are saying "dedicated fans are FAR from reality". Also, I believe, artists' career longevity depends on their skills/capabilities alone na kahit wala kang composer/choreographer, your career would still thrive.

@@mydarla08 Occurs artists can compose songs and choreograph dances. I believe Stell can do that too; there's no way he can't. I mean, people keep underestimating our ppop groups when everyone's background is as a musician or dancer before becoming an idol. Like BINI VXON ALAMAT G22, almost all of our PPOP groups are talented not just in singing and dancing but also in composing and choreography. But I want to clarify something: even if an artist does not write their songs, that doesn't mean they are not an artist. That's why we have composers and choreographers in the music industry to bring our talent potential to a greater extent in terms of longevity. It depends on our artists if they want to continue pursuing this career, like Sarah G. and Regine V. They don't write their own songs, but that doesn't mean they are not true artists, and look at them; they are icons and legends of the music industry.

@@heavensky8706 i know Stell is as talented as his brothers when it comes to song writing as evidenced by his quick wit during impromptu rap battles. I just pointed na parang mas preferred nya na mag theater but of course should he chose to write songs, he can.

There is still a long way to go for ppop. As an international fan, I think ppop can develop more products and consumer links. If fans don't need to spend money, then they can support any combination, they lack fans who have been willing to spend money for a long time, and many of the group's goals are only in the Philippines, not international. Many videos do not have English subtitles, and it is difficult for international fans to understand more, moreover, there were some problems with the management system of ppop, including the standards of behavior and love for artists. Many artists did not create songs with more profound meanings, and the image of the combination was not clear enough, there is something wrong with the attitude of many artists. They are not positive enough

@@melissanavera2113 Actually he has a point. Ppop music already existed before so what SB19 is doing is to revive the Ppop music in PH Music Industry. But SB19 is not just reviving it but also pushing its evolution to its peak form. Yung kasabihang "SB19 paved the way" tama yun kasi they are the first Ppop group who successfully brought the Evolved Ppop Music to international scene. When I say "Evolved Ppop" it means... 1.) More synchronized dancing 2.) Utilization of vocal dynamics 3.) Utilization of vocal harmony, and.. 4.) Normalization of Live Singing while Dancing in any performance Kaya maraming Ppop groups ang di makasabay sa Ppop standard kasi sobrang tinaasan ng SB19.

Itong SB19 and BINI kaya sumisikat ngayon ay dahil complete package sila synchronized dancing, vocal dynamics and harmony... yes nag undergo sila ng Korean Training System before but it doesn't mean Kpop music ang representation nila. Kaya sila mas minamahal ngayon dahil 100% Ppop sila in terms of Fashion? Di na dapat need iexplain to kasi meron nmn tlgang authentic fashion code yung mga Ppop groups na ina'apply sa MVs nila the best examples are BINI Pantropiko, ALAMAT Maharani/Kasmala/DayAndNight, SB19 What?, etc... Sadyang nagmumukha lang not authentic yung fashion sa Ppop kasi nahahaluan kc ng mga Ppop groups na bumabase sa Kpop visuals

Here's my message to @princecoffee2349 in the comment section who said that P-POP is delusional: It doesn't matter if the Philippines remains a third-world country for the next 10-20 years. Look at Bollywood of India. India is not as developed as South Korea, but they were able to establish a highly reputable film industry based in Mumbai that is also recognized globally. Similar to the music industry, I see P-POP and OPM becoming BIG internationally in the next few decades. All we need to do is to SUPPORT OUR OWN. Definitely, we should condemn crab mentality, colonial mentality, and cultural inferiority (the false belief that your own culture is inferior and anything foreign from developed countries is superior) in the PPOP community if we seriously want our own industry to grow and succeed. Thank you!

Judging from the comments, you shouldn't expect to get support from JK, BTS, blackpink, or any of the other KPOP acts by antagonizing and dissing them. KPOP is already mainstream worldwide and I don't see how PPOP can gain international recognition by antagonizing some of the biggest fandoms in the world right now. It's not smart and you're only abusing yourselves. If PPOP's international recognition hasn't improved over the years, check if this isn't the cause.

What many people don't get is that with live singing with a static mic on your ear piece you cannot vary the distance to your mouth. That means the static mics should capture constant breathing and should sound too loud especially when trying to achieve high notes as the mic cannot be moved further to balance out the volume. That is why Live singers always have a mic and you can see them vary the distance from their mouths to mimic the post production of equalising the sound and also for effect when they are meant to be only harmonising or back ground vocals. All this cannot be done with static mics. That means all these other artists are essentially just dancing/performing. The mics are activated during the beginning to give the intro and the end to give the outro but disabled for most if not all the performance or at the most only a small amount of mic to give it a touch of "Live" sound.

Definitely, lip sync is taboo in the Philippines especially in performances, thats why they produce high quality vocals on which they are strictly trained. Most of the audience watch for the live singing and dancing at the same time…if its lip sync, they rather listen to itunes or spotify. agility and stability in both dance and vocals is the emphasis, if you watch Ppop in live concerts, everyone says its more than their moneys worth. Its just that Kpop is more popular because they've been in the music scene years before Ppop came to rise. Ppop is surely getting popular, nowadays, its not their peak of popularity yet but they’re surely getting there!

Personally I prefer idol who can sing really well than dancing, if you're an idol ang sing very well, in this competitive industry kahit ma disband pa Yung kinabibilangan nilang Grupo there's always place na mapupuntahan cla than just dancing Lalo Pat your like there Lang Sa Grupo because U can dance at the end of the your like a back-up dancer and dancing I don't know Pero compared to being Singer most of the time dancer is always the back-up of the Singer. Yeah when they're younger being a dancer is somehow cool Pero when you're older being a pro dancer di na Ganon ka cool, Kaya ang daming idols na na disband or they're just old to be an idol na nowhere to be found than an idol na singer U can see them sing everywhere meaning they have always place to be with.
