What a cutie. My pup is 100+lbs. lol. So it can be more of an arm wrenching situation. We start well. We sit and wait before crossing roads. She walks pretty darn good, until she sees another dog, or sometimes a person if they’re wearing a hoodie or big coat. Getting better but I have to remain pretty vigilant to stay offense instead of defense. Head harness is the most helpful for us. Super helpful! Thank you!

We got a dog at 6 months old and the first time one of my buddies came over the dog jumped on him and he kneed him in the rib cage and sent him flying. We've had the dog about a year now and he's never jumped on anybody again. It's not complicated to train a dog

Snoodle and fox terrier always feel very embarrassed walking them and when anybody comes to my house. But your Method.... change the behavior of my dogs for good, THANKS very much.!!!

Your dog must submit to your authority. I like this word better than dominance because it’s a super charged word in the dog training world. Teaching manners is definitely the means to overcome the anxiety and excitement that dogs feel when a new person comes to the house. It’s confusing for owners who really don’t understand WHY their dog is going ballistic, but with clear, consistent practice of the right energy the owner will get it. I also think the coaxing sound the owner is making may be inciting the dog to excitement. Better to not make that noise. Great tips here.

I’ve been working with my dog with this exact thing. I noticed this dog yawns & my dog does that too. Whats that mean
@johanna8206
@johanna8206 11 ай бұрын
Yawning is a sign of stress in a dog. As others have mentioned, some of this approach is unnecessarily confusing/stressful for the dog because it doesn't clearly tell the dog what it should be doing. Proactively teaching the dog to go to "place" and giving them an alternative activity (bone or kong) would be a lot less stressful because it adds clarity for the dog of what we DO want them to do and then rewards them for it. A leash in this situation would also help, since having to constantly walk around and try to herd the dog over to the designated "place" is also stressful (for the dog and people). Its an awful lot for the dog to have to process while they're already over the top excited about company IMO.

Good work. Results without punishment or treats😊 A Cesar fan here too. I love how you explained to them clearly everything you were doing and why, and what the owner needed to do. Well said. 😊 I personally would use a leash ( for control and direction) and my body language with no words or sounds. I would also give the dog direction right away like going to the mat for place. The pup didn't know what to do or where to go from the beginning jumping from sofa to sofa. I preteach 'Place' when visitors coming. And/ or put them behind a gate in the kitchen when people come to the door ( it saves people from being jumped on while they are learning calm and self control ). Have the owners come in- no talk, touch, Eye contact and sit down calmly. When the dog settles down, I mean really calm, then I may bring the out on a leash ( while in training mode) to make sure I keep control. Owners and visitors can't control themselves with a puppy. Too excited. I tell them, if they can't control themselves how can you expect the puppy to control themselves.

My lab and I have a 60/40 relationship. I give him freedom to explore when we’re walking but still get him to come to me when called. It does require me to always be on danger alert for him but at least he gets to explore his curiosity.

Love your video. I've been watching dozens and I love this because it takes place training without a leash. All others do leash jumping training which you don't want to have when you're at home with visitors.

wow that is a calm dog compared to my 9 month old black lab, my dog literally tries to run thru the door when someone comes over to visit, it's a huge problem now he literally loses his mind. I did socialize him with other dogs and people when he was 2-6 months but to no avail it's as if he has never seen another human before, he goes BONKERS , jumping, scratching, barking in a crazy voice, doing flips, and trying to go thru the door. ITS BAD !

We are working through this with our young pit mix. It takes time but it can get better. #1 Ignore the dog when you come home, or let him out of the crate, don’t talk to him, don’t pet him, don’t even look at him for a few minutes. #2 Put a leash on the dog when people come over and stand on it so he can’t jump on visitors. Tell your visitors to ignore the dog. Only give affection when he’s calm. #3 practice impulse control with games like wait at the door until released, place and stay slowly increasing stay time and It’s Yer Choice. IMO dog language is not shushes but body language. Blocking with your body is a powerful tool as shown in this video. You can do it!

Of course, all dogs are wonderful, according to their owners. Yeah, 2:25 is what happens to me with 100% of dog houses. I know of no dogs that are trained for restraint. I don't want to have to "ignore" the dogs. Check out "airplane movie dog scene" for a perfect reference. I'm willing to train other people's dogs in this way if that is how I can sit down on a sofa without being assaulted.

Our aussiedoodle puppy is 100 times more crazy than Mable. He starts jumping all over us if we even pick up the leash. He's so excited to go out that he pulls really hard from the moment we put on his leash. It's really hard to even get the leash on him because he just wants to sniff it and chew on it. We have a LONG way to go. I really want to be able to take him for walks and to the dog park instead of just letting him play in the fenced-in backyard.

My dog is the very same he's crazy on the lead he wud drag me to other dogs sniff and be jumping around. My daughter bought me a head collar you put it around is head and face. There head is up all the time if he pulls it will get tight around his face which they don't like .It doesn't hurt them at all.it stops them sniffing which my dog does all the time. I tell you something it's the best thing ever . He walks right beside me now he doesn't pull me. But if I don't put it on him he will pull . I'd say after a few months.he will do it with out it. Only on week 4 with it on .so I hope this helps u. Good luck with it 👍

@@IReCReaTeHDHe is a lot better now! We use a gentle lead, and it makes a world of difference. It has taken a lot of practice, but he can go for a walk around the neighborhood now without dragging me behind. We also started him on Prozac about a month ago. He is a moody dog and can be kind of scary at times. We give him another anxiety med on occasion. He still gets super excited and jumps on certain people who come to the house. But I think that's because he loves them so much.

Unfortunately, I like this video less. You see a highly insecure nervous dog that has great problems with environmental stimuli, especially strangers, apparently. Instead of picking up this dog in a friendly manner from where it is and conveying trust, security, joyful orientation and stability, it is capped into avoidance and mentally broken. The walk is a disaster, the dog runs with a clamped tail in constant avoidance behavior. That's what we call a nerve wreck. He only gets negative feedback instead of motivating him. The visiting situation couldn't be more wrong. A dog that is constantly backing away or harassing with dominance? This dog is being forced into escalation. Exactly the same wrongdoing that Millan shows. With this dog, it would make sense to have the house leash on, greet the visitor at the side of its owner, counter-condition strongly and create a place to rest. And the problem would be over.

You Cesar haters and critics amaze me. Are you watching the same video that the rest of us are watching? I walked into a home with a dog that would not let anyone In at all without biting them and Injuring them. The family called me when they could no longer have anyone into their house. After about 8 sessions working with me, I could enter the house and share a couch with the dog. I was able to put a leash around his neck and take the dog on calm, peaceful, relaxed abs obedient walks. And no one has been bitten or injured by this dog at all since my work was finished with this family . What else do you want ? There is always more improvement to be made, But this is clear proof of progress and positive behavior modification results in any world other than the World you Cesar Millan haters live in. The lives of this dog and this family have been changed in a positive and safer and happier direction In most rational peoples eyes. And I learned much of what I know from Cesar and I have been able to do this job snd help dogs greatly due to what I have learned from Cesar Millan. I won’t speak for Cesar but I am not flawless. I give everything I have to make progress and positive change like what is seen in this video, In the behaviors and lives of troubled dogs . If you can’t see that in this video or any of my videos them I’m sorry for you and I don’t know what else to say to you.
