I loved Seasons 1-6. . . 7 fell off 8 was a disaster

George RR Martins world building is so extensive it's overwhelming. Yes the showrunners messed up, but looking at all these plotlines there's no way they could have pulled it off even if they were competent

That is what happens if some Hollywood guys write the story. They ran out of books after season 4 so to say. It went from one of the best series ever made to a absolute disgrace for the book series and for the somewhat sophisticated audience. But at least it looked fancy watching it burn in a dumpster fire.

They started off with a story from a world class writer and experienced shakespearean actors. As those characters died off, and dandd ran out of books, we noticed just how bad the young actors were and how bad at writing the showrunners were.

1. I disagree about Baelish. He did play a pivotal role, but wasn't of the main character, so i's forgivable he wouldn't get a perfect arch. Getting "betrayed" and played by the Starks and killed in their home seems a pretty good ending for the guy that got Ned killed. 2. Jon letting the wildlings south - maybe it should've been a bigger topic in the show but it is addressed in ep. 10 of season 6 when Jon is proclaimed king in the North. 3. Podrick apparently sang to the girls. A good bard is as precious as a good wh*re in a land such as Westeros and even more valuable to the wh*res. Much of the rest is too much to ask from a TV show anyway. So about 50% of this video i pointless. Still, the show sucks. I can't believe someone is actually up for rewatching it. I guess (or hope) you wouldn't if your work didn't require it.

I think they really dropped the ball with Edmure Tully. That man fought against Tywin and won, he kept the vow that Robb broke, he had his wife taken, his child born without him and he was imprisoned for years. THEN he was forced to stand for weeks at the gallows with a literal noose around his neck. After that he ended the siege at river run, saved his people, and allowed the blackfish to escape and then in the end Sansa basically tells him to shut up for a “girl power” moment 🤬

Also, Danny was screwing the blue beard guy for years and never got pregnant. It is cut and dry in the books

By ignoring huge chunks from the books before season 5, they shot themselves in the foot when it comes to adapting it to the screen. They skipped ahead too far.

I think they stuck to the books really hard in the first two seasons. But they threw in softcore porn levels of tits and sex scenes because they were worried the story wouldnt draw people. Then when those seasons blew up they were sure the show blew up because of the shocking scenes and hype moments. With the source material guiding them they executed well with amazing actors and only occassionally having to ask themselves. What would make this cooler? I think once they lost the source material their only focus was. "Why do people love this show? What is viral about it?" Their idea was obviously hype shocking moments and rule of cool. If the fans nerd out about how cool it is, it doesnt matter how it got there. They didnt realize until the end, that everyone loved the multi-layered story, world building, and complex characters faced with world changing situations. I swear the year that season 8 aired was the death of cinema. It seems like all writers could only write for nostalgia and the rule of cool. Its still that way today.

Does Westeros have mutant killer crabs or something? Crabs just aren't that aggressive in real life. It would be less of a torture and more a slight inconvenience to kick them away.

I agree with the every part. Also: Episode 2: Hivemind of fungi somehow travelling to kilometers away and not waking up before on the other occasions was pretty dumb scene. Thankfully that's not in game. Episode 3: Meaningless A.F. Also Joel's hearing disability and ptsd contradicts with his survival in the "business" and all those years.

I think Jon did lose part of himself which is why he asks Mel not to bring him back before the battle of the bastards.

I wanted to know what all the rave was about with GOT, and saw a few reviews and videos doing recaps. The number one reason it failed in my eyes is because of the incest and debauchery! It's absolute filth! Thank God it failed! There's plenty of other good series to watch that involve dragons, monsters, medieval times, etc, to waste people's time!! I thought GOT was a video game!!

George might, or might not, have had plans for all of these plotlines (although he does tend to just introduce more new characters and plunge on, so maybe not), but it would have taken many more series to get them all done for the tv, which obviously was not going to happen, hence the rush on season 8 (which I didn't watch btw). I suppose the better plan would have been to weed them out in the first place so that there weren't so many loose end to be tied up (without George telling them what was supposed to happen) and streamlined the story from the beginning. Oh well.

the most stupidest thing I've heard was Prince or Princess like why, why confuse that prophecy. I assume the Prince that was promised, The song of ice and fire and Azor chai is all the same prophecy about the same person. Then how can Dany be the song of ice and fire? She has nothing to do whit ice. While Jon is the song of ice and fire Stark ice and Targaryen fire. And no one thought Bran would be a dragon rider

braavos is a very free city actually so i doubt the faceless men really force people to stay unlike the nights watch obviously they dont make it easy to leave but i also dont think they care enough to track you down unless someone pays for your life

Let’s get really real. The physics of zombies is always shaky ground. That was always going to be crummy. How dead? How much decomposition? Skeletons ok? Hiw about 1/2 skeltons? 1/4 skeletons? Headless skeletons? How much if their body needs to be intact? How do you kill them? Why would one type of strike kill them, and not another? Do their eyes work? Why? Are eye sockets enough? Why? It’s endless the problems there are. The only thing that has a small chance to pass, and it’s still thin, is a fresh kill with working eyes. Every other scenario is just a stupid video game first person shooter.

What about the wasted/unexplored development of Grand Maester Pycelle? It's hinted at a handful of times that this character has something hidden up his sleeve or that there is more to him than meets the eye. The most noteworthy scene is early on in the show (S2 or S3?). There's a scene where he's going on a monologue to a prostitute in his chambers about a previous king. She is very apparently seen by her facial expressions to be completely bored out of her mind listening to an elderly man delve further into his ramblings. He then excuses her out of the room after she asks him what the moral of the story was that he spent so long explaining, and he plays the part of the foolish old man forgetting what it was he had initially said. After she exits, you see him standing up like a frail old man and he looks at himself in the mirror as he shifts his garments and armor into place. He then walks toward the door to leave his room with a completely normal gait. But as he gets ready to reach for the door, he re-corrects his posture to match that of a weak old man so that only the viewers are shown that the whole thing is an act. This always made me wonder if at some point he would plot some kind of coup or stomp anybody that tried to come after him and kill him. I guess he was forgotten about or no resources were spent toward diving deeper into his character.

What is horrible is that they didn't allow several of characters to complete their arcs. Jaimie has changed - but they send him back to die with Cersei. Sandor has changed - but they send him back to die with Gregor.

This is the problem. Things like these happen when people take up the job they are not really good for. The creators of Game of Thrones were really good at creating the show. But they were obviously pathetic at writing the story. Hence, they messed up everything since they began writing their own story of the show since the beginning of season 5. Same is happening now with House of Targaryans. As it's being created by someone very good at writing, but who has literally zero experience of creating a show or a movie of any kind. Hence HoT is an extremely boring show.
