The best feature of American tanks to my knowledge was their speed , the .50 cal . And overwhelming numbers. And last but not least , the Men that operated them . Yes our blood sacrifice heroes ! God bless them all.

The Germans are serious craftsmen. Never seen anything come out of Germany that wasn't top quality. My kind of people on that front.

A really formidable armored vehicle. The Sfug lll with its added armor, low profile and the tank killing gun made this turretless tank very dangerous to those unlucky to be in the firing line of this vehicle on the battle field. I believe this is one of many positive things to come out of that rather dark time in German history. I really admire and respect the engineering that went into building this assault gun but I guess in this case a tank destroyer.

I don’t care what anyone says the tiger tank is the most scariest and badass tank in WW2 and it has it problem but still a legendary tank.

In those city scenes the StuG almost looked like a moving heap of rubble. I also wonder how long its going to take until an AI can clean up the picture even more, colour it in and make it look like a video from the 2020s.

The matilda is a nightmare for infantry pill boxes and bunkers😮😅....this was 1 of britians genius designs😊 ...i call it a bull dog❤ cause thats what it is. Thick Sloped armor and a fast firing 2 pounder. So it would slowly creep up too you in plain sight with infantry behind and flanking😅....as Ms Matilda gets closer...and closer...ur german infantry and panzergrenaders are running out of options😅 u see large mortar rounds barely affecting its pace😮...now its 50 yards away 😮😮😮😮😅 and you cant just get out of the trench and run....because the matilda also has a co ax machine gun😅 yes a good enough tank can smash a matilda but the matilda wasnt for tank combat i think its a break through tank designed for taking out defenses.

I have never seen this before, not just the footage, but the vehicle itself. I wonder how it performed. Reminds me of the German Wespe, I think that also had a 105 mm gun ... I had a model of it as a kid!

Great video and thanks for sharing this, absolutely clear footage and it really shows how important the Stug was to the troops. I would like to recommend a great book about a Anti -Tank Commander Hans Hoeller of the 21st Panzer Div.D-Day Tank Hunter, its a great read for any avid history reader's out there. Also Das Reich by James Lucas, this covers the story of the 2nd SS Div and has some great combat with Stugs and shows the how they being greatly outnumbered held their own. Great video and thanks again, take care regards Scott.

🤘 Agreed, "D - Day Tank Hunter" is an interesting read and one of the latest WWII memoirs from a surviving German soldier looking to heal & pay homage to his comrades. From combat in N. Africa to commanding an anti-tank platoon in northern France ( sheds light on another armored self propelled gun, the little known modified French Somua MCG half track w/ 75mm Pak 40 gun), getting thru the Falaise Pocket, surviving capture, and the end of the war, he shares his honest thoughts & experiences.

My favorite tank in all of WWII. Perfect for recon, light armor , and infantry support. When deployed correctly, it got the job done. In the early war, the Stuart gave Rommell a run for his money
