The family stuff really stuck out to me because my husband joined the army after almost nine years in USMC Recon. Because he said that, "If the Marines wanted you to have a family, they would have issued one!" He then moved on to a branch that was a bit more family-friendly, AKA The Arny... Where, he studied and became an Arabic linquist, working in LLVI for the remainder of his career. Unfortunately, as with all the service branches, they are ALL not the best to the service members oveeall... He medically retired after 18 and a half years in 2013 after three tours. One in Iraq and two in Afghanistan. And MANY BODILY INJURIES INJURIES AND CPTSD.... among many other issues. But he will tell you with his last breathe that was the time in his life that aside from the birth of his babies. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING, has ever made him prouder or more accomplished than his time as as "Galvanized Marine" as his supervisors like to call him when he transfered branches! Thank you so very much for your service. As the wife and caregiver to a Veteran. One, I am sorry for your harder experiences, because I know how they tend to creep in when you least expect them to and when you are not prepared! Two, I hope your VA experience is better than most post active duty. Although that doesn't seem to be the case from my purview. But... Most of all, I wish you peace!!!
