Faux (fake) leather is pronounced “fow”, not “fox”. Perhaps you believe “Naugas” are real animals, or maybe patent leather cows? You can’t afford to sell Fox leather for this purpose.

This video was a 10/10 on how clear it was which helped me repair this stupid issue by myself thank you! Originally I went to a few repair shops to see if they could fix this for me because I was to nervous but after countless repair shops not specialising in headphone repair I bit the bullet and ordered the parts and I'm so glad I committed to it. The amount of money I've saved because of this video is absolutely amazing and if your nervous judt think about the amount of money you will be saving. I think it's close to impossible to fail at this repair with how clear this video is 🙏🙏

needs to be a class action to make sony pay for these earbuds after they pushed a firmware that essentially destroyed peoples batteries.

HI @CentralSound and anyone else who knows about this: Can anyone offer me some advice please? I followed these great instructions and replaced the battery in my right bud (the only one with battery life issues). I did not end up disonnecting anything, just opened the case and carefully lifted everything off the battery, slipped in the new battery. I'm almost positive I can tell that the little thing is making electrical contact to the new battery because of how the lights behave when I put it in and out of the case. (with no battery, the lights do nothing). BUT I can't seem to get it to connect or do anything now. It doesn't announce battery level when I put it in my ear, and it doesn't pair. I tried both kinds of reset (In ears and in the case), and charged overnight. The other one still turns on and announces battery percentage, and I can chance noise cancelling settings, but it also does not pair. The one with new battery appears to do nothing except charge. Anybody know what else I can try ?? thanks for any ideas you might have :)

Thank you very much for the video and for the parts. I was really sad when my right hinge broke. It took me around 30 minutes to fit the part and now I am with my favorite headset.

Aight, let me ne that one more comment that shares that this seemingly simple part has saved me +$100. And honestly, it helps trap the sound in the cuffs as well. I like that too.

It took me I think less than 10 minutes, REALLY surprised how easu it is to do it! On tip that I have is to pry the battery from the metal tab, that way the battery goes loose without removing the adhesive or the metal tab.

My buds and my case were dead after a heavy rainstorm. Dried everything over night, pried open the case and unplugged the battery, waited a bit and plugged it back in and my case lit up again. Even my buds worked again after I put everything together. Glad it wasn't fully broken and I didn't have to replace anything. Good guide tho easy to follow.

Great guide. Doesn't help me unfortunately. Did everything the same way you did and similar videos I found. Tried a credit card to pry with. I can hear and feel all 4 clips unlock, but there's absolutely no movement. All I seem to be able to do is tear off the lid itself. Didn't have any trouble replacing the batteries in the earpieces themselves, had those 2 done within 10 minutes total. Oh well...

Thanks for this tutorial! The headband, unlike the ear pads, is not an intuitive replacement. And the original is stitched on so obviously can't be an exact replacement but this seems like a decent solution as long as the velcro stays closed.

The stock ear pads are glued to a plastic frame. In my case the adhesive was so worn down that the stock pads just separated from the frame. Took me a minute to figure out that I had to twist that frame off. The replacement pads weren't that hard to twist into place, but I am pretty strong. The left one was harder due to microphone being on that side, but i got it into place. It's a bit of work, but much better and cheaper than buying a whole new headset just because the pads wore out.

I would strongly recommend against replacing the scrim mat if yours is is fine shape. My double sided tape was almost impossible to remove the backer without removing the whole tape. It was time consuming to remove the glue residue from the old scrim mats. And worse still, I installed the new scrim mat slightly misaligned, causing it to be wrinkled. If I had replaced just the cushions in the clip, it would have taken 1/5 of the time.
