Great video I enjoyed. What kind of rod and reel do you use and what's size line? Ive been looking at peddling kayaks since I don't have room for a boat. do you see any kayaks running around there?

Ingredients license, get 2 pole permit. Buy groceries, buy bait. Total cost about $130.00. Got0 to Strike about 3pm on Friday. Fishing till dark. Started back home 2 pm Sunday calling wife when I reached the Interstate. She asked are you coming home with fish ? I told her dang straight. I didn't tell her that I fished all weekend and didn't get a bite. Stopped by WINCO. And bought 4 pounds of COD FILETS. LAST TIMES E I WENT FISHING. COD WAS $ 5.00 LA POUND. ! MATH ABOUT $ 130.00. VS. $ 20.00 LOL STANDING JOKE AT MY HOUSE IS DADS GOING FISHING AT 🎣 WINCO. !

@@louiewillis2668 spring summer and fall are all good. The moss in the snake middle of summer is probably the biggest factor that can make it tough. Not much going on in winter though, they get very lethargic when it’s cold.

@@garyfujinami9911 right on!! Hells canyon is awesome! There’s not a ton of catfish down there. But sturgeon in every hole and the smallmouth fishing is fantastic! No limit on smallies. Just throw a crawfish pattern and you’ll do well.

I want to first say that is one of the best videos I have seen covering salmon fishing. Great job Has someone that tries to go to south fork every year for the salmon run. It's great to see others enjoy the salmon fishing and overall camp in one of the most beautiful areas my opinion. Even though that I am native american and able to spear fish the salmon after watching your video I would love to try egging. Hope your youtube channel one day gets to grow into something huge!

@@dohc_h22a29 really appreciate the kind words. The South fork has long been one of my very favorite places on the planet to fish and camp. Happy I can share my experiences as nothing is for certain in the returning salmon each year. My hope is to share my knowledge, entertain and to create awareness that we need to fight to keep the salmon coming back and this great tradition. Best of luck to you on the river my friend.

The reservoir is smashed with crappie right now! But 95% of them are 7-8 inches long. There are some big one’s but the lake is pretty much starting over on the crappie cycle. It’s still really fun for kids, but not much of a fillet off a 7 incher.. Lots of nice small mouth tho. Cottonwood Campground is a great spot!

Problem is there aren’t many places in Idaho to catch salmon.. This is one of the very few spots to bank fish for them.

​@user-qw3tg7sx3o Black Opal is right this is the final stretch to a damn kind of a bottle neck for steelhead and salmon. There is tough banks and almost no access. Also hundreds of miles of rivers with running, spawning, salmon all over the area..

There’s fish out on that jetty year round. They do how ever have a season, but it started back in March. I’ll be out there in a couple weeks. Very curious to see if the surf perch are as thick as in July. I would watch the forecast for wind more than anything. If it blowing, it’s really tough to fish.. Good luck!!

I used to live in McCall and use to go fishing here with my dad when I was a kid. We used to have a friend who ran jet boats and we would go up to a place called James ranch.

You would be really wrong.. We have signed sheds from each season we go to commemorate, and for a couple guys that got skunked, shared what we found, which wasn’t much. I personally have never sold a big shed I’ve picked after a quarter century of shed hunting.. Seriously wish they were worth nothing.

@@user-eo9xd4gc3v Exactly how does our shed hunting disturb that? You can go find deer, moose and elk sheds to carve on, the same as anyone else? The land doesn’t really belong to you or anyone. It will be there long after we are all gone. Why not share it and enjoy it in our own ways? What you seem to elude to is more greedy people hoarding it and its resources for themselves. What I request is to share the land and some renewable resources it offers with anyone who would like to experience it.

Very good video, our group really enjoyed participating every year as well. About 5 years ago we met a guy from Wisconsin there and now we are life long friends that make multiple trips a year shed hunting. Really sucks non residents can no longer participate.

I was there last year as well. I had spot 19. I had no idea how messed up the line situation was. That was pretty rough. Also totally agree with your sentiment and take on Wyoming’s new shed hunting laws. Great video!

19, that would have been awesome!! I only got a fraction of the guys in the video that cheated into the line. We actually stood in the road blocking a bunch.. It was chaos! Only 95 cars in the motorcade this year. I think they could easily put out a drawing for 50 more non-res spots and it wouldn’t be bad at all. Just one line through town so that doesn’t happen. Did ya’ll kill it at 19 last year?
