I had the same exact problem and I. was not even able to do a successful print at all. It happened during testing. and it happened about three times every single time had to take everything apart to get it out. And then the last time I put everything back together and then it says the hot end was not working. I ended up sending it back to Amazon because I was not dealing with that ordered another one and then the one that I have right now I have not had not one issue
@Mrddrichards29 күн бұрын
You should check their website, they probably have instructions for both clearing the filament as well as how to properly change filament which will probably prevent the problem from happening. You might find that you're doing something slightly wrong that's actually the cause.

Hello How did you make it operative?
@oleurgast730Ай бұрын
Did the jam happen while printing, or while unloading filament? The later one was a quite often fault at the Qidi X-Max 3 and is a simple config error. The filament unload happens to fast. The filament is still weak when the gears grap the part wich former was in the meltzone. So it gets sqeezed and deformed, than tangles between the extruders gears. The solution was extremly simple: In the printer.cfg is the macro for filament unload (on the X-Max 3 "unload" was misspelled "unlaod", so first I missed finding th macro). This macro basicly retracts the filament for 80 mm with fast retraction. I copied this line, changed the first line to 20mm. The following line I changed to 60mm and a feedrate a third from the original value. Now the filament still unloads fast from the hotzone, but much slower in the coldzone. The filament does not get sqeezed by the gears anymore. Since I did the change, no problems with stuck filament anymore. This printer might simply have the same issue, as the hardware is mostly the same...

@HW_printing, Yes it is covered under warranty QiDi Tech Support already got me the parts I needed to get the printer running again. I already installed new parts and tested the printer tonight and it is running better than before. I gotta say I am very impressed with how quickly QiDi took care of me and I recommend everyone with a problem with the Q1 PRO to reach out to support and provide all the information you have and new information they require of you to get your printer running as it should be. Linda was my support agent and I rate her AAA+

Hi Will, I am having the same issue as you, after only two days!!! First day was okay, I had few good prints, but then second day nothing. Not even in manual mode I cannot purge. I will try to contact Qidi. Please let me know if you got it fixed. (And yes, I did cut flush the filament. I even tried running the filament directly to the hot end, not through PTFE tube). Thanks.
@willmar2778Ай бұрын
@Cezarpetcu sorry to hear that and sorry for late response I've been busy with work and family. To answer your question yes my jamming issues were fixed after QiDi support sent me a new Extruder and hot end, but now I have a new issue and support sent me new parts for a totally different one.

I'm disabled and can't work anymore, i just hope Qidi Tech doesn't raise the price before i get the money. Please make more Qidi Tech Q1 pro videos hopefully on printable modifications for this printer and Thank you for your help

What is the highest temperature filament you can print with this printer?
@danieljamesbinderystu29682 ай бұрын
This printer has a hotend that can reach 350°c, same as the X max 3, x plus 3, and X smart 3. I have every one of these printers, and they all reach 350°c no problem. All the bed temps can reach 120°c as well. Chamber heater used to go up a bit higher like 70°c... but they have since dropped the heater temps to 65 or 60c. I am not certain on the chamber heater cause I NEVER use mine. I don't print with Abs
@willmar27782 ай бұрын
@lynntantro7374 As Daniel said it can reach high temperatures, I have printed ABS and ASA at 250 Celsius, bed 90 Celsius and Chamber between 50-55 Celsius overnight and am In Socal with changing humidity without any issues. You can use the chamber as a filament Dryer before you print and works great.

Great review. I have the same printer and really like it so far. I love that I can throw pretty much any material at it. I've printed TPU; the only trick there is you have to slow down the printer and the acceleration.

So glad that me and you both got this printer. It’s the best printer I’ve ever used it prints ASA like a champ I haven’t ever had use adhesive with it. I still do just cause I like it, but not necessary by any means.

is this extruder a new version that clogs less or just a replacement for the old one that is the same design?

Do you know as to why the Q1 Pro would have a failure to boot issue? Constantly, I try to boot it up and it displays a message that "the start up is abnormal". Then prompting me to turn the 3D printer off, wait a while, and back on again. However, this doesn't work. I even tried it by turning it off, unplug the 3D printer and turning it on again after plugging it in. Again, not working. I just got it yesterday and it only was on for one session to print the included Benchy. I used the filament that came with the 3D printer. Nonetheless, today it decided to become a glorified paperweight. Currently, I'm waiting on a response from Qidi, but I do wonder, due to yourself having more experience, what your educated opinion might be on what I'm currently dealing with.

@@willmar2778 A bit of an update. It was a firmware issue and I needed to do an update to the firmware. The customers service was good, albeit the English wasn't on par. However, I was able to understand the instructions they provided to help with the process and were very nice. The issue had something to do with the USB internet dongle thing, but it was patched in the latest update at the time. It works great and have gotten great 3D prints since then.

the Q1 Pro likes it best when filament ends are flush cut, yes it contradicts the past experience of tip-shaping filament. Sorry to critique, I think you were frustrated with the situation, it may have clouded your judgement. It clearly showed in the manner you assessed the situation and the remedies you pursued. I recommend to consult QIDI Wiki guide for further issues.

@@willmar2778 hey, have you tested the new assemly yet? and will it be on the newer q1 pro's that arrive in the following months? or are they still working on it?
@kerwalker42463 ай бұрын
My guess is adding that blue additional PTFE clip is definitely putting stress on that sharp bend that it is now creating. I’m sure they have put the last stock clip at its location for a reason. Mines is miles back compared to yours and is a much more smoother curve. It must be creating massive friction at that radius that will put stress on the hotend system for sure.

The user manual is missing step 2: "take the huge bag off of the printer" and step 5 or 6 (removing something from underneath the print bed)was not applicable to my new unit. The unit froze during firmware update and cant successfully check online autonatically yet, but hopefully in the future they will fix this. The printer also does not work with Cura slicer (yet?).... I asked their support and they said Cura was not for fast printing machines, whatever that means... Hopefully i can get Cura working with this!!

@ThomasMair-wy2ry Yes the hot bed is about 2mm bigger than the double sided steel flexible printing sheet, but it doesn't affect the print quality out of the printer, the calibration takes care of it from my personal experience no issues on all my prints so far.
