Scrubs started the "Dramatic comedy" trend, and to this day, no show has done it better.

This episode showed just how tough Kelsos job is. He has to make “lose one life to save ten lives” all the time

I never understood why people thought Kelso was evil for prioritizing the patients that would donate money to the hospital, given that this money saved both lives and jobs. It's not as if he paid himself bonuses.

Kelso is up there with my most fav.characters in the show. Not a good/bad guy, but a necessity to maintain balance in the hospital.

This is the moment, when every fan of this show starts to see Bob Kelso so different way and pays maximum amount of respect towards Ken Jenkins. This moment, this actor play and this song are so perfect. This is how I started listening to Citizen Cope's music.

What a majestic actor the great Ken Jenkins is. One line of spoken dialogue in about 45 seconds and yet he carried all the weight of the moment with just a look.

Kelso is such a fantastic character. He’s the best in the same level with the janitor and cox, he is the character with the best backstory (war in Vietnam), he is the protagonist of one of best episodes (host story IV, I don’t remember the number), kelso is the character who got developed the most, ha has been “evil” for the earlier seasons, than since “my jiggly ball” he became more human and let’s be honest, he’s the best character in season 7 (especially in my dumb luck) and he’s the one who Carries season 8 (together with the janitor). He’s not my favourite, but I have to admit the is such a fantastic character and for that I love him, he has some of funniest moments in the entire series. Ken Jenkins has done a perfect character, he has done a perfect work and has done his best character in his entire career, nobody could do kelso as he did it. Thank you bob, for everything

I like how JD is the only one who recognizes Kelso's face from the group. Up to that point, he is only hoping that he does care and at that point realizes that he is right. Then Kelso starts to whistle and JD comments that "even if he is too proud to show it", which indicates that he did notice Kelso's harboring feelings and everything he said before - and hoping for - is actually true. At the same time for the others, Kelso has not changed, as they did not notice what JD did. The whole monologue initially sounds like the usual commentary, but when he says " "even if he is too proud to show it" it becomes clear that this what he is thinking of in that actual situation (so it is not just a simple narration). Very clever.

Mad how Kelso, and people like him, have that job. They legit have to sacrifice one, for many, in a hospital.

I haven't seen this show in like a decade but i think the context of this clip was something Bob said that the moment he steps foot off the hospital stairs, he no longer cares about anything that happens in the hospital but deep down he still cared as the look he has on his face just before the gang faces him and he tries to put on an act that he doesn't care about what happened that day in the hospital or the employees he's forced to deal with.

7 seasons and we all saw Kelso as villain incarnate because of choices like this, but S8 when Cox became chief, he realised just how much of the humanity running a hospital can suck out of you, which is why he became friends with Kelso: because he finally respected how much crap he’d been flinging at him for years when he never understood the big picture. Cox chose a patient to save because he liked him. Kelso chose a patient to save because it meant he could invest money in helping more people. Very much “We’re not here to help one: we’re here to help as many as we can”
