I just built a go kart with the same motor. Do you have the 3d printing files for the cooling duct? Also what brushless motor did you use for cooling?
@bryantimms14692 жыл бұрын
What gear reduction are you running on that? 80kmh top speed is pretty good considering it looks like its got torque.

Hi ! just want to know after all this time how the kart is doing. Did the motor survive ? Want to build the same, but i'm scared it won't last long.

trying to figure out why you chose the kelly over a powerful rc esc ? was it because of the hall effect throttle , the programability, reliability, or some other reason im missing?? awesome insane build either way!

You used an air cooling instead of water cooling , right?

How is the motor holding up?
@sebastianbarry9522 жыл бұрын
I looked up the motor that you're using and the website says that its peak power is actually 25Kw!! Crazy to think that you could go faster with a different battery arrangement.

Awesome! I like the turning radius of the kart. Any tricks to that? How did you achieved it? Or is it just the power/torque doing it.

What are the motor specs? What company makes it?
@imperialsecuritybureau60373 жыл бұрын
120100 brushless motor, produced mostly by Freerchobby, Flipsky & Maytech. It’s the same design with all of them, aside from various modifications each company makes to suit their quality control. They are possibly all built by Dongguan Freerchobby Co Ltd. but I’m not exactly sure. The specs vary on a few things like kV (of course) and rated torque and max amps are slightly different depending on what company is giving them. Typically the specs are: kV: 33 / 55 / 80 kV Maximum Series: 20-27S (72/84V - 99.9/113.4V) Max Amps: 300A Max power: 25kW Weight: 3.9kg Rated torque: 35-46Nm Nominal power: 10kW Nominal Amps: 180A Actual size: 120 x 180mm Shaft diameter: 12mm

Wow. Nice Build! I'd love to see more details. I've started my own electric motor go cart project. Just bought a donor frame and now I'm looking into power train ideas.

Can you something like the Motec dash logger but cheaper on eBay or AliExpress ect? I need something like this for an electric cart project.
@torquesynthesis76413 жыл бұрын
There are cheaper options, it really depends how functional you want it. For instance, e-bike displays might do what you want. If not for the MoTeC dash, I was thinking of cheap options like using an aduino and LCD, or using a phone as the display for data over bluetooth. Other motorsport orientated displays do exist cheaper, although I don't have much direct experience with them I would say it seems that you get what you pay for.
@d1o2n43 жыл бұрын
@@torquesynthesis7641 Thanks for the reply. I think i'm going to have to build my own and have bought an Arduino for this purpose but the need to learn programming is a bit daunting. What I really want is something that can also connect with relays and inhibit the existing Curtis controller when stall is detected which needs several sensors to do properly, plus display all the data on the battery and speed. I am building a prototype for a farm use vehicle and want to make it idiot proof. All it takes is someone driving a big load up a hill, stalling the motor and keep pushing the pedal. Nothing like opening a motor and smelling that burnt coil smell!

How long can the battery run?
@torquesynthesis76414 жыл бұрын
If driven at a steady speed like 40km/h on the flat, it should run for more than 30 min. I tend to not drive it like that though..
