I watched this video in order to better describe what I wanted done to any of my many guitars when I had to have repairs, changes, or upgrades done so I wouldn't sound like a dunce to my luthier. I learned a lot about your process and some terminology from watching this video. Thanks.

Good stuff. Beautiful guitars! However, shellac is not beetle poop. It is a secretion.

I hope you went back and clened that glue off that truss rod because if you didnt and its glued in place you effectively stopped that truss rod from doing what it is putt in there to do and that is adjust to take out any bow that might occur in the neck

Translate text with your camera Is it pigment powder paint applied to the guitar? At what temperature did you add it to the hot water and did you start applying it to the guitar after it cooled? Can the same color pigment paint be applied to painted guitars?

Q? What would that go for ... great size and finish. I could go on a jonze for something like that. What type of pickups are in that guitar? P-90/hum style similar to the Australian made JJ Pickups, I bet that they would sound super in one just like that one. Thank you for your build, Sir!

Not too sure, I'm not an electric guitar maker. Somewhere around £3k I'd guess, although it'd be a bit better thought out than this one! Pickups were just what Crimson supplied. P90s would be my preference if I made another 🙃

Wouldn't it been easier to maybe, to cover certain holes with painters tape for getting to pull snake lines for the electronics wires inside the body cavity with a suction vacuum. Just wondering, if it would have saved some time and aggravation, in that process ... just curious if that could even help ... sort of like electricians do through feeder pipes. Great looking and sounding AX. No wonder it received a 1st place award. BRAVO, Sir. That really turned out super cool ... cheers!!!

Hi there at Cranmer guitars. Beautiful red stain you used for that particular guitar. May I ask which red from which brand you used for it? Thank you very much and best regards, Michael

This seems like a ridiculously hard way to do something you can achieve with tinted lacquer an $15 HVLP gun and a $20 garage sale compressor. My first attempt looked phenomenal. I sprayed the perimeter with a translucent Lacquer I tinted with leather dye then sprayed the whole thing with self-tinted amber lacquer using dye made the same way. I added a few coats of clear lacquer, just cuz, sanded to remove orange peel with higher and higher grits and polish with automotive compound. This seems labor intensive. I believe French polish and shellac have a purpose but this seems very time consuming and shellac will be less durable than lacquer. The guitar does end up looking nice and sounds good, you are just doing it the hard way.

Firstly just to say that it’s a beautiful guitar, l am building a single cut with a Birdseye top, love your colour choice. Wondering if you would mind telling me the colours of the dyes and the sequence you used to achieve the burst. Also what did you use to seal the dye before final oil coats. Thanks Regards Maurice at ML Guitars The

That was very cool, beautiful job. I've done a lot of finishing of wood work, one method of getting an even stain on certain woods that normally go splochy is called glue sizing where before you apply the stain, mix wood glue and water, mostly water and brush it on , let it dry and light sand. I don't know if this would work for you on the spruce tops given all the other steps you do but might be worth a try

Are you able to expand a bit more on getting 12-20 compound radius? Did you use multiple sanding blocks, and just get it more or less? How did you determine the frets before seating them? I assume you measured then did each one individually?

That's not showing the full build. You left out the part I was waiting for; installing the pickups, the wiring harness, running the wires through it, etc. How lame. Change the name of your video.

I thought you would use animal hide glue (as in violins) for the top and back in case you want to remove them later but that was just standard wood glue wasn't it ? Very interesting video. I enjoyed it very much.

Beautiful built! But I wonder how much hollow body vibe it actually has since sides, top and back are pretty thick and it has a sound post. I am guessing it responds and sounds more like semi/335 design? (nothing wrong with that)

I was curious where that hole was going to be used. Nice touch with the fret markers as well. The all-wood hinge is an additional crafty touch. Confession: I used a chisel ONCE for recessing the pockets for door hinges, it's a good thing my friend (a luthier) was there. Wonderful video thank you.
