As someone who travels to remote South Africa, Starlink will be nice if you can have internet in the remote farm lands between towns. Imagine camping in the middle of the Karoo and having no cell reception.

for years people have been labelling mask as an apartheid beneficiary, yet they are advocating for his company to exploit our people.

Problem is that DA (markets)want to get rid of BEE,they don't want it,maybe its all connected to big businesses that are against everything to do with government but they're supporting everything to do with privatization.

If a foreign company wants to do business in this country, they have to give up 30% ownership to this corrupt government..Elon isn't stupid. Neither are the 1000s of other foreign companies that refuse to bring their business here..this video smells like psy op

USA will use that to spy against our government, BRICS already are advanced with G5.2 that Tesla and Space X wanted..we are advanced than what we're given credit for.. Starlink wants to exploit Africa in the race for reclaiming Africa as their colony.

Maybe the Government can do a simple system where small farmers can invest what ever they can afford in the Nsango farming trading system rather than selling expensive licencing to them cause they know only the rich will afford, give power to these carnibas small farms or small farms nje in general so that they can grow but give maximum limit of shares u can buy for regulation of fair trades or balance

Great video! From an Architects perspective, the concept of designing car-centric cities is outdated. Instead, we should focus on human-centric designs that follow desirable routes/"dablap" based on human behavior and preferences, rather than pre-planned walkways or sidewalks. and as for the new gaudy buildings, It's crucial for a city and a country to tell their story through architecture, preserving heritage and history when designing new buildings.

Why south africa making it so difficult??? Indonesia, Europe, brazil all accept starlink but not here??? The government is asking too much as if it other country had not its figure. All I hear is fear and not prepare for innovation in the country 😂

Without a licence, ICASA cannot ensure consumer protection, cannot ensure quality of service, cannot prevent interference with other licensed services. Starlink is required - like every other licensee - to meet the 30% HDG requirement - but only in its local SA-based subsidiary. I am certainly not aware of any lobbying against Starlink's entry by any existing player in the market. Market entry for Starlink sits exclusively in the hands of ICASA (and, of course, those of Starlink), not at the door of government. ICASA's door is open. Starlink only has to come knocking.

As a pharmacist who once worked in the medicinal cannabis industry I can concur that it's a highly profitable sector, it sure does need huge cash injections to get the facility up and running but the rewards are much Greater, and when it comes SAHPRA licenses money talks but also your documents and ground site should be in order and meet all the regulatory requirements i think the greatest challenge comes with finding customers in the international market, because currently, licenses are only being granted for cultivation for export and not for selling locally, but as the laws loosen up ,things will get a bit easier

Bee is bullshit. All this is reverse apartheid. I don't agree with apartheid. South africa will never move forward if the crimes of yesterday isn't forgotten. This is really unfait to have to give a black person shares in your business that you worked so hard to build up. All of this is just corruption. This communist government must fall in south africa. During apartheid there was sanctions put in place to penalize south africa and under this new government they are creating there own sanctions with this bee bullshit. Why would elon musk give away a part of all his businesses just to get star link into south africa. Its south africas loss not starlinks.

What a joke! This guy is making excuses for the ANC's racist BBEEE laws, and for the monopolistic internet providers in SA. Pathetic. So young yet so dumb. Starlink doesn't NEED SA users, most of the world has or will get access. Maybe the GNU with the DA in charge of digital comms will change that, here's hoping!

I think it would have been more useful to highlight countries like Ireland (I’m sure there are many more) where one can move to with a SAn passport without a visa
@jacksonm.6549
@jacksonm.6549 17 сағат бұрын
Not "move" to. You cant travel there as a tourist, but you should carry documentation proving you have sufficient funds for your travel, hotel booking, etc. It's not like a trip to Bangkok where you simply walk in and get your passport stamped. You can still get rejected from entering Ireland with a South African passport. In recent news, their government was considering removing us from their visa-free list.
