Impressive workmanship and an enviable sense of humour! Great to watch; it has renewed my waning faith in the possibility to get a professional job done in UK. My own Z3M C has been sitting alone in its garage in Czech Republic for four years whilst I work elsewhere - been run once only in that time :( Body is generally very clean but a well-known UK detailing firm screwed up paintwork and it needs a full job. Want to do another one?

Rockauto in USA has lots parts listed for these including the brake hoses even with import and taxes their cheaper and because it’s the USA they had the v8 which is actually a Lincoln Ford engine I believe . I had one and fitted lots of new parts on mine a lot sourced in USA .

Holes punched in the sheet metal like that are for strengthening. I am surprised you didn’t know that.

Just use a reverse twist lug nut remover removes any nut and goes over any locking nut no welding

The holes along the sills are likely for the phosphate / e-coat process. The car bodies are fully submerged in several tanks. Allows for fast drainage and e-coating into the cavity as far as possible.

It sort of defeats the original purpose of the Transit (which made it unique amongst vans at the time) - the driver didn't share the cab with the engine.

With the engine you can buy duck tail linered block for the st/rs but you are looking at around £4,000
@joshpollard90987 ай бұрын
Or bd performance do just the block around 2k I think

You’re not sorry. There I am looking to get my arch’s fixed and a painted job, and your just (neatly) hacking arch’s off 😢 It does look good tho, I had my money on piston rings. Guess not 🤷🏻♂️
@maddercustom8 ай бұрын
It felt wrong doing it but once the arches were gone and the over fenders fixed in place it brought a guilty smile to my face 😅 I really think it’s going to looks pretty cool because it’s different. I think the liner is past saving guess wel find out 🙈

Check the bore to make sure it’s not ovaled. The front to back measurement would be bigger than the side to side if it has. Yes you can sleeve the block, but to be honest replacing it would be more economic. Once you’ve done that it’s time to find those Kuga parts 🤔. Oh yes, strip the interior out and let it dry out whilst you’re not using it. Keep up the fun work.
@maddercustom8 ай бұрын
Thanks Keith 🙌🏻 engine is off to be looked at professionally 😅 and the interior is currently full of mould 🤢 but you’re right it needs coming out asap 😅
