The Switch remake for the trilogy brought me back down nostalgia lane...I played the hell out of this game as a kid and seeing all the perfect strikes alone was crazy. I got to the dragon lord a couple of times but he always just trashed me. Never managed to kill a silver slime either LOL. Slippery bastards

If you have full health you can knock them down with a star punch if they get up in a one count. Most people don’t explain that. You must have full health.

i think its just super crazy they have a boss that simply dies in 1 hit . that really shows you how much pressure they had to dish out these games like crazy. they coded that in a day it seems.. a 4 MINUTE game.. how many millions did they make on this .. fck . thats literally like selling dog turds as GOLD and people buying them .. gladly .

This is a completely different version than I got for NES. Mine would never let me go that long without running into a zillion enemies and its not possible to put the dragonlord to sleep. Interesting to watch this.

There is actually only one version, this video just showcases what is possible when you know where the "random" encounters will be once you learn how to control all of the random events. It was a lot of fun to figure out, but it took a long time and was very difficult. Glad you liked the video!

That's what makes speedrunning so fascinating. And people who don't watch speedrunning are just like "what's fun or interesting about skipping parts of the game?" Their understanding of speedrunning is limited to someone playing normally, just really well.

@maxpower2511 they don't have source code but they have access to other stuff. That's how cheat devices worked. You check numbers, you do something in the game, you check the numbers again to see what changed and how.

@@maxpower2511 Some people are crazy enough to read the machine code with a hexadecimal editor to learn how the code works, they document it on a wiki somewhere, and speedrunners read that to learn exploits to use on the game. Nothing impressive as they like to pretend it is.

Does anybody still watch these tutorials? I cannot for the life of me get the timing down on the non buffered punches. My hits only seem to land at random. What am I doing wrong? Is there something I'm not seeing as to when I should be pressing this hit? I'm letting go of the D Pad and he's not even dropping his guard. Somebody help.

@@Ouijawii Mainly that one, since I can't seem to get throught consistently. I'm maybe 30% on hitting it right. But the 2nd one after the next buffered punch I'm also getting blocked. Should I be holding up a bit longer before I let go of the D Pad?

@@cravenmoordik My guess is that you are holding up for too long on the punch before he blocks you. Try to let go of the button and dpad before the punch animation goes out, and if the punch still goes off, then you did it correctly and should be able to land the last punch more often.
