-40 with or without windchill because -40 without windchill and 30mph winds means the windchill would be -80 below. If you’re wondering how I know theirs a calculator on google you can use if you look up windchill calculator.

Uffda for sure lol mostly there’s a northern minnesota and southern split.. up north most the stereotypes hold true lol and in particular Scandinavians that moved here long time ago

I feel like Alexandria and north west from there has a thicker accent, plus the iron range. But in general most of central minnesota i feel like is more normal sounding. I grew up south of the twin cities and it definetly sounds stronger in the older people

The "O" thing is true, we do have a little bit of that northern twang with the "O". As in "Oh yeah" and the O is a tad pronounced.

I think Lutefisk is more of an older generation thing. My grandparents make it every year for Christmas. But it's pretty much just them and my great uncle that eat it.

Btw, lutefisk is a fish. I think it originated from Norway but I am not sure. Lefse { lef-suh } is like a wrap that people put yummy stuff in. It also originated in Scandinavia I'm pretty sure.

Funny story, I live in Minnesota and one day, I bumped into my crush who is from Europe and I said "Op, whoops sorry." And he looked at me weird. and then a day later I accidentally bumped into him again and said the same thing and he made fun of me🥲. But I definitely do not regret living here.

We say oof-da a lot in da Nortd and Lefse (lef-sah) is really good. It's a Norwegian desert, very tasty. I'd say Bob Dylan is highly idolized over Prince in MN. I don't like him but if you ever attend live music in a coffee shop, bar or open mic you will most likely hear at least one of his songs. Obviously "ope" is like a universal word throughout MN but I'd say a less know, but very overused phrase is "you know." Not sure how that translated into don't chya know but eh, at least it's close...

Northern Minnesota still does huge church Lutefisk dinners they’re quite popular and, as well as Lefse, is a remainder of our Scandinavian roots. Also, based on what you’ve said we’re like here I feel like you’re either a transplant to MN and/or only live in the cities or the suburbs… 👀
