Arsenal fan, and I take our club seriously. We wouldn't even think about losing a match on purpose, let alone giving up a chance for the Champions League. The club's values are really important to us. It is not healthy to spread false beliefs among our players and fans by telling them lose a match purposely lol. that's not how you win the Premier League or the Champions League. To win those trophies, you need real belief, determination, teamwork, and the ability to handle pressure. have to give everything you've got. You can't build a successful team with a fake attitude like that. Do you think your players will take you seriously with that attitude? They can sense you and see you are a fake club. Even they don't say it, they know deep inside they heart that your club and fans are not serious. That is exactly why Tottenham is a joke of a club and is unlikely to win any trophies.

I loved his celebration as he was disrespected in that match, which is not said. At the end of the day I don’t like the reaction of most players because they seem so happy for getting to the final. I’m there like Man Utd fans and most of the players has no passion or something. You lot reached the f***g final fair and square. The ref gave a very easy penalty to Coventry to equalise, he refused to give pen from handball in a more clear handball situation for Man Utd and still managed to qualify through without help from referee odd or wrong decisions in your favor. All my life, I never seen someone getting a hard achievement of something and feeling embarrassed for it. If Man Utd would’ve lost to Coventry, they would’ve been the laughing stock from everyone and mocked by Coventry and everyone for a year and so on about it. They qualified and feel embarrassed. Out of all the teams from England and Wales, you reached the final of the Cup.

J. David needs better service on the MNT. I'd like to see Hoilett sitting behind him as a 10. A 4-2-3-1. Larin comes in for the last 30 mins or so and goes up top while David then falls back into the 10.

Here's a bit of wild ideation; how about experimenting with Davies as a CAM in the Netherlands match - starting Shaffelburg on the left wing and Adekugbe at fullback (in a 4-5-1). I personally don't think Davies will work well there but I'm all for giving it a go for 45 mins.

Alphonso misplaced so many final passes against Trinidad when he had loads of space to work with, he doesn’t have the consistency in small spaces to play like Riquelme. Honestly Eustaquio as a 10 would be more successful than him, play Piette as CDM then.
@greglawrence9230
@greglawrence9230 Ай бұрын
@@Total_football_and_relationism Yes, I agree about Davies. However, there seems to be an agenda in Canada Soccer to get/keep him in an attacking position, and therefore I'd like to see him experimented with in attacking positions that he hasn't yet been in so that a new coach coming in can point to examples of how/when it didn't work. For me, Eustaquio doesn't quite have the attacking instincts enough for a 10. I'd like to see Hoilett in that role when it's deployed. I know people will say he's too old. Osorio would be my next choice. I think Kone and/or Ahmed could grow into that role quite nicely for the future. But I also think that we should deploy a CDM instead of a CAM for Copa America. A 4-5-1 that moves into 4-3-3 in attack (or 4-1-4-1 or 4-4-1-1).

Biello is called the "interim" coach for a reason. All the players understand and are fully aware that getting a new coach is a very real possibility. Therefore, getting a new coach will be minimally disruptive and, if anything, will allow players to relax in the understanding that their longer term direction is now settled as far as coaching is concerned.

From how I’ve seen Chile and Peru playing against Argentina, I know they like to high press and play possession. But against Canada, it will be different cuz they will be vary of Canada’s speed and the ball-playing ability of Miller/Vitoria/Johnston, I’m sure both teams will play a low block and be very physical against Davies, Buchanan and David. Against Peru it shouldn’t be much of a problem cuz they can’t build up under pressure, but against Chile it will be tough cuz Maripan, Paulo Diaz, Isla, Suazo, Aranguiz and Pulgar are excellent at moving the ball against a high press. It will be a difficult game but overall, I would give the edge to Chile.

Especially the high tempo style of play for the South Americans. Canada has never seen that, they’ll be playing Netherlands before Copa but that is not what they’ll see at Copa, the dramatics and ebbs and flow of the game will be much more fluid and transactional. They face European teams at the World Cup which is a different style of play. Even a poor South American team will have a ruthlessness to them. Canada can’t fear the worse like they did against Croatia and Belgium in the World Cup but they will have to be much more pragmatic and play to their strengths. Consolidate in defense and hurt the Chileans and Peruvians on the counter. They did it during World Cup qualifying and then somehow decided to switch it up at the World Cup only to get exposed because they couldn’t maintain possession and go toe to toe with better teams in the midfield and backline. They try to play toe to toe with the US and got exposed by Gio Reyna at the Nations League Final.

@@JeanClaudeCOCO Yes, good read of things. I'm hoping against hope that we see a proper coach take over in time to use the Netherlands and France friendlies to learn how to play in a defensive block and hit on counter - press hard for 15 seconds upon turnover but then pull back defensively if the ball is not regained. Sprinkle in some random hard pressing but ultimately prioritize disciplined defense and opportunism. It would be hard shift in style for these players but it needs to be learned now so we can play smart football in '26 and actually compete.

Canada needs a proper tactical coach with experience at the highest levels of the game, and I'd say they need to be in ahead of Copa America if humanly possible, so that there's plenty enough time to be ready to helm the squad through the WC. @@greglawrence9230 you may be right but I don’t ever get my hopes up with the CMNT. Been watching for 20 years and games aren’t won on paper. We never play friendlies to prepare for important games and it looks like we are going with 3 CB formation with CB’s that haven’t played together much if at all. There’s also been too many games lately where Davies tries to do too much. All I’m saying is I would not be shocked if we didn’t get a result.
@greglawrence9230

@@craigmantle5362 I certainly agree with you there. It is unthinkable that Biello is experimenting with the defensive line the way he is for this match when you have a friendly scheduled in June for that sort of thing. Worse, everyone knows T&T's game plan, and it looks like Biello will field a 3-5-2 with instructions to push forward, playing perfectly into T&T's tactics. And yes, everyone knows that regardless of where Davies starts, he will carry the ball far too long and can be stripped by swarming him. These three things together are a perfect recipe for disaster, and there's zero excuse for it. I will be at the match today and I'm braced for a train wreck, even while Canada should still be able to easily best this T&T squad, despite all this.

@@greglawrence9230 yeah I agree with you completely… but when’s the last time we had a friendly? The Japan and Bahrain games before the World Cup? we should have stopped calling up Vitoria and Borjan and had some friendlies before the Jamaica game. I do think we will win today but it will be interesting to see who the back 3 will be. I’d go with Miller - Waterman - Johnston… Buchanan and Davies as wingbacks. Eustaquio, Kone, Choiniere as my midfield with David - Larin up top.
