I started watching his videos on Christmas day 2022. I suffer from depression all my life, and watching his videos, especially the riding parts at first, gave me a sense of freedom. His stories and knowledge were entertaining. RIP Shoestring.

It'll truly be a sad day when the last of Shoestring's tags gets scrubbed off, painted over or fades away. Makes me sick to my stomach to know we'll never hear from him again. God bless you Shoestring! Hope the boxcars and Cadillac grainers in Heaven are awesome to ride!

When he recently rolled through Maine, where I live, I didn't find out until long after. I would've loved to have run into him and give him some supplies. Every train that came through my town after, I looked for him on each car. We're all going to miss you, Mark. Take it easy.

@@SteveSleeperTrains yes sir love Fremont. Won team teen state bowling in 1978 @ the old 30 bowl. Bowled my first 200 game there also. I live between g.i. and Kearney now close enough to the tracks it rattles house. 1 train every 9 minutes average.

After watching Stobe and Out On A Rail videos, of course I picked up on Shoestring. I am saddened as it seemed I was just getting into his adventures. I really enjoyed the breakdown of his pack and camp tutorials. And loved watching him marvel and being on the tail of a nearly 3 mile train winding through the desert. I wish eternal sway.

Another Fremonter here that followed Shoestrings adventures, also always kept my eye out for him since he would occasionally come through Fremont. Hoped one day to meet him. Now it will be over on the other side.

There are three seats in that front row. Which one is the best seat choice for a single traveler? The one closest to the side, or closest to the conductor? I am also curious if you had any trouble with the altitude. And then it looks like you ride backward on the way down hill. How was that?
@SteveSleeperTrains4 ай бұрын
