how to make more money on products put in deliberate design flaws to force you to buy the newest model by making it impossible to fix the product or more expensive to repair than to buy new capitalism

Dang I just recently upgraded from my Galaxy watch 3, and it's still an excellent device. In fact the tizen architecture gets better battery life than my current Galaxy watch 4. Luckily these watches are easily hackable, I'm sure somebody will have a workaround. Someone made a workaround for having the ECG feature work on non Samsung phones.

I always preferred Samsung to Apple due to their price and policies but now Samsung is starting to pull this stuff. I am disappointed in them. This is annoying me like games changing what you paid for after you bought it. What I mean is not only do you not own anything, companies are switching it out on you after you bought it! I am kinda pissed off and makes me not want to buy another Samsung phone. I have a dying S9+, when I started looking around it is all no headphone jacks and no SD cards slots. Bare minimum for 2000$.

Spotify is the worst mainstream app ever. That being said, my son has Car Thing and it's bs that the discontinue it so I'll let him know to complain to our state and federal fraud centers. We should dispose of it up Daniel Ek's ass. UPDATE: Spotify tells TechCrunch that it has more recently instituted a refund process for Car Thing, provided the user has proof of purchase. So I hope you held on to your receipt.

I hate a company intentionally letting their product be bricked because of the sheer waste. The absolute deliberate waste of valuable resources and the environmental impact that created. Just to try and extract the most short term money possible out of people.

The great thing about everything is that if there's an issue with a product on the market, there are passionate people willing to help their fellow man. For the woman in singapore scenario, a device or method to scrub personal data from the car. In the event of GPS calculations to determine speed based on cloud data, remove the gps in car and disable in phone, buy a tomtom or similar device for navigation. When the price of getting caught for breaking a useless law that not even the law enforcement personnel follow is as high as losing money and the ability of transportation, these precautions become less crazy/unfathomable...

Typical Telstra. I would switch to another provider for my phone but Vodafone has some of the worst service i've ever seen where I am, Optus customer support is awful. So Telstra is the only option for me.

Bought a Samsung Android 1.6 phone in 2009 that they advertised would be compatible with Android version 2, one of the biggest upgrades ever. When it wasn't they removed the video saying it would work and I'm still salty.

Using the GPS like that seems dangerous because lets say I let my car be worked on by a mechanic and THEY go out joy riding they are generating data and the police extracting it will think it was ME... if the data shows the car was speading then write the car a ticket not just guess who was driving and punish them.. this world has lost its mind

Nothing new here. Several years ago there was boom with 360 degree cameras and Samsung made Gear 360. Surprise, it was compatible ONLY with Samsung phones (vendor lock) and several years after they declared those cameras "dead" and...stopped updating app. And new Samsung phones no longer compatible too. Now you can find those cameras for cheap as second hand since they barely work now...

Yup, Samsung has decided to offload the cost of developing gear platforms to Google by adopting their system, then they said completely F-that to coding any updates for the now deprecated Samsung platform. And they are going to do this because the majority of the buying public happily accepts their devices are fully disposable and have limited lifespans actually shorter than the life of the hardware they are made from. And as far as the trendy crowd is concerned, its just "punishment" for people being "losers" who hang on to old stuff "too long." Don't expect to see this get better ANY time soon.

I've got the Citizen watch my mother gave me a couple years before she died. It's 12 years old now, it tells the time and date, and with the solar/battery mechanism it has I've never had to do a thing with it. That's all the watch I'll ever need. To me smart watches are just junk that complicates your life.
