So I live in this random little weird house apartment area. And there's random weird stuff going around and I'm like I know some of this has to be good. And I just found out I have this mallow growing right outside my door mixed in with some irises. I'm so excited to know their medicinal and I can do something with them. Thank you but we can't say it too loud cuz we'll get in trouble.

You might want to get felt pads to go at the base of your thread posts to protect the paint of your lovely machine. The KZfaqr Sewing Machine Repair Guy sells pads and silicone bobbin-winding tires in a variety of colours.

You do not know what you are doing. This machine is NOT corroded. It is bad machine oil that turned gummy and brown on parts. You are wrongly advising people and you need to learn not teach. Leave this machine alone and take it to someone who knows. I have restored many metal mechanical vintage machines. Leave those old plastic knobs alone. They will break if you handle them as plastic shrinks with time. You are focusing on trivial details not the guts of the machine. You have to use a penetrating oil or carburetor cleaner on inside metal parts. Carb cleaner must not touch plastic gears or electrical cords. Wipe off if it does. Make a penetrating oil of 50:50 Acetone: ATF Transmission fluid in glass jar. Scrub with toothbrush dipped in this or use a metal oil can. Acetone melts plastic, so use caution. Use a puppy pad to protect the painted areas. This will both clean and free up seized parts. The reason they are seized is because someone used machine oil or something other than sewing machine oil. Never use 3-in-1 oil!! After you have got it all working again, scrubbed down and cleaned with penetrating oil, or alcohol, or Mineral spirits, or carb cleaner, use Triflow Silicone Lube for all metal shafts and joints. Open up the gear box panels, remove all old grease in there, clean up with alcohol, then pack with Triflow Silicone grease again and reseal gear boxes. Oil up at points indicated in manual and be VERY CAREFUL with motor. ONLY ONE DROP IN RIGHT SPOT FOR MOTOR, NO MORE! Oil it during use and before storing. Never force the dials or handwheel. Just oil with my mixture and wiggle, and let sit. Keep adding oil. You can also use Liquid Wrench but mine is cheaper and tested. You must wipe off all penetrating oil which is a cleaner not a lubricant, and lube correctly as stated. You have to unscrew the machine from the table, remove panel near handwheel, and attack it from all sides with cleaner solvents. Before that, pick out all lint, thread stuff from behind bobbin shuttle race where it is wadded up. Blow it out from underneath after picking it clean. Then use solvents. 'May need to open clutch' - wrong. You must open clutch. Small set screw - loosen and it comes off. Oil shaft not belt. No oil on belts. Take off that side panel and access inside. To clean the exterior, use Awesome cleaner from the dollar store. Great stuff but don't breathe it, work outside. These machines are very easy to open up and access the guts. You showed nothing of this, with your painted nails and cute hair style and long intro. Get to the heart of it, learn, and teach others correctly. Very disappointing female video trying to do DIY. Do a real DIY instead. I'm female. I can teach most men how these things work. You should too, if you did not focus on decor and trivia so much. Do not mess with the knobs, they are irreplaceable!

Thank you for posting this! It’s worth it’s weight in gold. I have this machine. It suddenly started working slowly or rather intermittently. I have to sometimes turn the wheel manually to get the machine to stitch automatically sometimes. WoW! Thank you for the info. Wish i knew of your YT channel or shop, I would pay to have you service my machine. Very grateful to have returned to this video and learn of this incredible information.

If you cook the leaves down with garlic, lemon, and some salt it’s really good. They’re used a lot in Middle Eastern recipes as molokhia or chubeza

I'm curious if you've done a video on how you've set up an irrigation for this high density garden set up. I tried to search in your videos and didn't find anything specifically dedicated to that. I kind of unintentionally have somewhat dense beds as I only have 2 - 4'x8' beds right now and bought an ambitious amount of starts so just tried to fit them all in as best I could, so I'm curious especially when things are so dense, what your method is for ensuring easy and deep watering. Right now my beds are as dense as yours, but I'd like to keep trying to refine and utilize the space I have efficiently so that I don't have to have so many beds just for produce and instead a manageable number.

Hi Courtney! Great question. I don’t have a video on this. I have an above-ground drip system which I made in 2020 during some pandemic shortages and I ended up using just random drip hoses and whatever was available! Lol. That happened to be black 2” hose for the main lines to each bed. And then 1/4” line coming out of those which I snake around on top of the growing surface to water each plant. It’s not my favorite and I don’t *love* it. But it works. I would recommend going with a drip system, but probably try and get something nicer that will last longer and be more durable overall. I do find myself making repairs and adjustments every year. Also I do have this on a timer.

We live in Cyprus, and use home grown ingredients in our handmade soaps. This is a great idea as puree in soap takes forever to harden. Dried and ground is our way forward. Thanks for showing. Please check out our soaps we sell to fund our dog sanctuary.❤

I picked up a portable Domestic model 808 at an auction for a few dollars... it has a problem sticking in reverse (won't un-reverse) I want to fix this but I can't even figure out how to get at the parts behind the stitch length knob and reverse button. It looks a lot like this one incl. The flip up bobbin winder door

When my wife brought home her mother-in-law's old Singer 66, it was locked up. I think she said it had sat for 20-30 years. Lots of oil and forceful nudging, it finally broke free. Sews rather nicely now. Great video.

I recently found the same model as yours, in lavender too! It is also seized up but the seller used some oil and it did turn, albeit stiffly. It is very dirty and I need to do more work on it. It’s my first time so I’m looking forward to following along with you

This was a very nicely done video, the camera work is great, your voice comes across clearly and I identified with it closely as I've been doing this for a couple of years now too. If you don't know already, one thing I know which may help you is that the balance wheel should always be rotated to the front. It's OK to wiggle it back and forth a little, but that's it. I have a whole selection of vintage Kenmores, only one of them turns to the back. It's 54 years old and I think it's might be the only one sold by Sears that worked that way. (I could be wrong here!!) There are a few exceptions in different vintage machines , but I don't believe very many. So keep going, keep learning and please keep making such good videos - we can always learn from one another.
