FYI, I did yoga (in Dublin Ireland) when younger with only the intention to exercise and give up smoking, as well as tackling occasional insomnia. The teachers never really talked about spirituality, though they did emphasise relaxation. Though it helped, I think it was more just the discipline of doing something to replace the smoking that did the trick, more than anything else. I've now seen so many documentaries and articles about yoga cults, some of them horrific, that I don't do it anymore. It seems Western yoga is a magnet for self-appointed messianic types building up cults around themselves. That's the real danger these days. German man Joseph Pilates started developing his system when interned with other Germans during WWI to help himself and others in the camp remain physically strong. There was never any intention to sell a spiritual system with it, so as I've gotten older & more cautious about what I expose myself to faith-wise, I find this much more beneficial. It's slightly influenced by bits of yoga in terms of movements, but also by many other physical disciplines. It's a great alternative to yoga, and arguably better exercise in terms of strength for women. I have literally never had any Pilates teacher who tried to bring spirituality into the mix. They're all highly focused on building core strength and improving posture.

I use to live in Sacramento 37 years ago. I had to move more than half way across the county with my 3 and 1 year old daughters. I was hunted down and even tho I moved to 2 different homes i was followed by something that looked like a huge black bird. I had many different church leaders come to my home and they were afraid. It was like whatever that thing was it didn't mind me it couldn't stand anyone else who would come in my house. When my 2nd daughter was born she was a week old and I heard a very loud sound coming from the room that her crib was in. I went to the door immediately and saw her crib rising at least a foot and a half off the ground and then dropping over and over again. I didn't know what to do so I yelled out in the name of Jesus Christ Satan be gone. The crib went to the floor and stayed there at which point i ran and grabbed her. She slept through the whole thing. I went through so 😂I have been asked many times to write a book and after I moved to the Midwest I got a call from a man who traveled the world studying different cults and he wanted to fly out and talk to me and write his own book. I went to a psychiatrist around 3 days after I arrived in the Midwest and gave her the information that I could prove because honestly I don't know if I would believed someone who told me that stuff. The psychiatrist gave me a piece of paper and told me to call the man immediately and she said that she was destroying anything that had my name on it or proof that I had been there. I had my dad call the man and he had an area code from Chicago. He was an ex detective and was a famous P.I. he wanted me and my daughters to go in the underground. But he said i could never have any contact with my family again. I had already lost my career that I loved and people who couldn't deal with what they saw. I left 2 cars and a new truck and a beautiful home. I came to the Midwest with the clothes on out back. I told my dad to tell him no i wasn't going to go to the underground. I actually a few months later and even more than just one time I saw that P.I. on CNN being interviewed by the news people. He would talk about some very serious cases that were usually unsolved yet. I ended up having 4 daughter's who were all 2 years apart and I had them baptized and raised them in the cathedral i had gone to and they received all their sacraments there as well.
