I remember growing up in the 70s and all the movies I used to look at with German soldier's , well they were always made as the evil Nazis all running around with MP40S where the stick mag never ran out of ammo and they spoke English with an Obnoxious German accent and were made to look like imbeciles,, but in reality that is not so.

If this is Stalingrad then there is a big error on 5:34, There was no panzerfaut then yet but the Russian soldier is using one!

Wow this is very bad, the MG34 isn’t full cocked. He like short strokes it and then is has this super slow rate of fire like a chain gun. The uniforms look too clean in some scenes. The sound effects and special effects are kinda garbage and don’t look or feel real. Overall pretty bad production

Man there are some real continuity errors regarding the MP40s condition to fire. Half the time it’s on safe but running into dangerous situations. Then magically ready to fire in the next take. Cocking noises played, but still not ready to fire. Camera cuts away for a second, now it’s ready to fire. Stuff like that. Actors don’t really seem to know how to use them.

Nice how the insignia isn’t censored like every single WWII game

I dont think these guys at the time were firing so much bullets as the USMC (clearly the inspiration of this film) does today. Ammo was always scarce at the Wehrmacht as they relied on speed of execution, not supply planning..

German soldiers were doing what they were told to do. Obey, or firing squad. During my tour with the US Army in Germany 1972-74, I became aquatinted with a few German veterans, and being able to speak German with them, they opened up about what it was like in the Wermacht in WW2. Amazing tales. But the one that struck home, me being a tanker, was the man who was a panzerfaust on the eastern front. When he talked of his fighting, he smoked Pall Mall plain ends down to his fingers. By the time he was done, he was glassy eyed, and exhsusted. These men were soldiers, doing their duty, tegardless of plitics.
