two different kinds of style: - In Saving Private Ryan, you can clearly see an MG42 almost wiping everyone as soon as they get on the beaches. - In this one they charge on fire straight towards an MG34 and take over the trench. (the slow motion kills me...) If you like realism and want to see a good Russian movie about WW2, I highly recommend Come and See. No heroism, just hell. This one really hits hard. If you like reading, The Forgotten Soldier by Guy Sajer, this book will get you real accurate accounts of what it was like to fight on the eastern front during WW2. No movies will come even close to this book. It totally changed my perception of what the eastern front was like. Probably one of the hardest book I've ever read

The battle of Stalingrad is one of the most important and incredible battles of the entire history. It turns me mad that there isn't a single movie that depicts this battle in a realistic and accurate way. Most movies are filled with either ridiculous heroism or false stereotypes.

This German officer had one hell of a life. Before the war, he caught a monkey and dragged its ass over to New York. Then he joined the Wehrmacht and survived Stalingrad. He spared a Jewish pianist. Arrested the July 20th plotters. He survived the war because he wasn't present at the bunker during the final days. Two decades later he became a journalist for West German news and documented a massacre in South Korea. Ultimately, he met his end when worked for the Umbrella Corporation.

@@DivineWisdom28 That’s actually one of the reasons for the massive German exodus to South America mainly. I have heard stories from Italians that were in the war as civilians and the Russians were actually feared because they raped and killed civilians in cold blood and were even ordered to do so. The Italians preferred the Americans because according to what they told me, they carried chocolate and little glass bottles of Coca Cola for the locals in exchange for food and a place to set up some of their stuff so women would cook for them and the soldiers handed chocolate and soda to children. In contrast, when Russians showed up, they hid in shelters.

Usually I always think of war films about WWII as shit. Because in many Hollywood and Russian films, German soldiers are portrayed as stupid. Usually an Allied soldier sits on one side and fights with a spoon against an entire German regiment and wins too. I don't know if this is a movie or a series, but this is really well done. Plot, effects, costume, direction, etc. really great. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

@steadyjumper3547
@steadyjumper3547 2 жыл бұрын
Never was that simply of a ratio. Not ever soldier got 5 kills. In modern war plans artillery and tanks are the real killing power. As soon as the axis lost those things the war turned against them and they started experiencing large casualties.
@gregorychew1089
@gregorychew1089 2 жыл бұрын
@@steadyjumper3547 I agree with that, but the loss of air superiority is really what was the deciding factor. It just seems to me that the German soldiers killed so many more enemies per soldier on average.
@broksholk4771
@broksholk4771 2 жыл бұрын
@@gregorychew1089 They really didn’t. Much of the extremely high casualty count the Germans racked up was made up of POWs, not kills (although most died due to awful treatment anyway). And many of the lopsided numbers are also fairly easily explained by the fact that for much of the latter half of the war, the Russians were on the offensive. Attackers always take more casualties than defenders, and it didn’t help that Hitler often refused to allow retreat, forcing the defenders to hold positions even longer than they normally would.

@@roskcity Why? Because communists. Commies killed over 20 MILLION Christians from 1917 to 1960, and sent many more to Gulags. They killed 62.5 MILLION Russians/e. Europeans. They erased thousands of churches. Synagogues were fine though. Commies killed 4x more Christians than Germans killed Jews. Yet you dont even know this, but I bet you hear about the other all the time. Why do you think this is so?
@roskcity

@@perseusrex614 Nope, Jews were also killed in the USSR. Those are some big numbers, we can't know the exact number because I'm pretty sure you haven't seen every single body killed in those years. Is this some excuse to make it seem okay to hate Jews? Because that's what I've been seeing in some comments lately.
@perseusrex614
@perseusrex614 3 жыл бұрын
@@roskcity you are making excuses. Those numbers are acording to Russian sources, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn being one of them. And I'm positive he saw more bodies than you. 6 million is a number equal to the total Jewish population in Europe. Do you dispute those numbers? Did you see every one of those bodies? And they didnt get killed in any significant numbers in the soviets, they did the killing. Judaism was not outlawed and synagogues were not torn down and/or converted. ) 3 w s even got their own Oblast. If you dont like reality, you are talking to the wrong person. If that is what you see in the comments, thats a good thing because its true. Facts dont care about your feelings. And the facts say communists are and were FACTORS worse than n @ zi s.
